when things get too real for me_irl

For relatable posts that are too real for !me_irl. Meaning jokes/posts about mental health issues and self deprecating humour.

This is a subreddit for memes that hit too close to home or are too real for communities like !me_irl

If you have depression, talk to a therapist, it really does help. You are not alone, and recovery is possible and worth it.

If you find jokes about suicide, depression or self harm upsetting, this sub might not be the right place for you. This is a place for people who use self deprecating humor as a coping mechanism, not for those making fun of mental illness.

With that out of the way, the rules are as follows:

No need to roll. Eat it as it is.

Your stomach doesn't give a fuck.

Just like everybody in your life.

Unfortunately everybody in my life does give a fuck...

... about making my life suck as much as possible

Roll them sushis.

That will change their minds.

If you feel this enough to come to the comments, there's a good chance you have undiagnosed ADHD (because you cope well enough, but "aren't living up to your potential"). An aspect of ADHD is rejection sensitivity dysphoria, which also applies to "failures" like in this meme. Getting medicated at age 29 has been life changing for me

Yeah sadly, medication is incredibly difficult to get if you're poor. And it's REAL fucking easy to be and remain poor when you have ADHD.

Perfect is the enemy of good.

We respect those who start things and do not finish, far more than those who start nothing.

You should be proud. You invented Sushi Primavera!

🎵 I wish they all could be ... California rolls. 🎵

Sushi? No. Poke Bowl? Practically!

[–] dohpaz42 6 points 6 months ago

I felt that to my core.

The Japanese do aspire to perfection in everything, and treat even mundane tasks as a measure of their competence and worth, so this guy's reaction seems culturally appropriate.

Lol, no! I've never even heard of it. It sounds interesting though. Is it good?

Imo Yes - he takes the house work with the same honor and perfection he learned from being a Yakuza. I thought of it, because he also makes some sushi in one episode.

It's on Netflix, short episodes. You'll already know by the second episode, if it's something for you.

There's no classic action, only awkward situations. If that's your cup of tea, i would give it a try.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out.

Dump everything into a bowl (except for the wooden mat). Add instant noodles and hot water. Congratulations, you've just made ramen!

[–] RGB3x3 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

What kind of ramen soup has rice in it?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 months ago

The "I-failed-at-making-sushi-ramen"

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

Dump everything in a bowl except the wooden mat and you have chirashi sushi. Sushi success!
