Every time I mention that I like Huberman's podcasts, I get bombarded with comments on how he's basically a fool, a liar, yadayada.

And when I read every link, trying to see if maybe I should ditch his podcasts... all I see is, at most, in very specific cases, that some scientists defend different theories.

Like... wow. Science in a nutshell.

That is specially funny once you actually listen to his podcasts, because he is constantly reminding people that his words are not the literal truth, that he is no cop, and that he is simply collecting some evidence and always asking for people to go research this information, consult their doctor/physician/professional...

Joe Rogan has like a 1000 clips that can give you absolute clues on how this guy is... well... not great. And my guess is that people are associating a big muscular man with another?

Has the podcast claimed that the white male is a superior species or what am I missing?

Come on, what kind of dark agenda does a guy like Huberman have when basically everything that he says can be condensed into:

  • get good sleep
  • do sport
  • eat well
  • go outside ?

Another thing I've seen is many articles pointing out his "bad romances" and other weird personal life details, as if that mattered somehow?

when basically everything that he says can be condensed into:

You forgot the most important bullet point: buy expensive and questionable nutritional supplements

I don't buy (pun intended) these arguments because I've been listening for months now and not a single time they made me think I needed to buy anything.

Supplements are generally discussed at the end of the podcast, as a last resort, with a big warning on consulting with a professional. Like any science-based program would.

Also there are no brands promoted, but components themselves.

Good luck. You’re going to get nothing but “popular = bad” here.

I've definitely benefitted from it, hearing why sleep, sport, and outside (i already knew about eat well) are so beneficial, with other tips for how to do them more/better, has been genuinely helpful for me. That said I've only listened to a few episodes. But the most useful ones imo are the one on dopamine, the one on eye health, and the one on caffeine.

Because it's full of pseudoscience. He's a better spoken and more intelligent version of Joe Rogan. If you haven't done proper research I suggest you do, if you still don't understand (or don't care about) the dangers of psuedoscience then you do you but know you're part of the problem then. My advice, put the kool-aid down dude, he's not the answer to whatever it is you are looking for.

This is starting to feel like a neverending loop. Where is the pseudoscience? Where is it? That is what I want to know!

All those comparisons with Joe Rogan make absolute no sense, 😅. The only thing that these share is that they go to the gym and have a podcast.

I am not treating him like the answer to anything. I am just weirded out because I am getting bombarded with cancel-culture comments that go nowhere.

I'm upvoting you not because I'm a fan of Huberman. I listened to half an episode and it didn't grab me. I'm upvoting because you're asking sincere questions and so far (only 2 responses) you haven't gotten an answer.

Some responses are somehow disappearing, maybe some federation issue?

But yes, so far responses are very much very meh. From such an amount of hate I was expecting a Jordan Peterson level of evidence where you get him rambling for 10 minutes about how women should be more in the kitchen or something 😅.

Turns out most "evidence" so far is basically personal life rumours and "pseudoscience" claims without explicit examples.

We'll see.
