I really wish they would put out a version on Steam. I know it's easy enough to install the game (which I have on my PC and deck) but I have friends who literally won't play a game unless it's on Steam ☹️

They announced a Steam version few years ago, but there are no news on this since then.

Let's hope it will be on Steam with version 2.0.

Just how religious you have to be to not play games OUTSIDE Steam?

Its also about getting it out to people who would otherwise have no idea it exists.

Dang it, okay then

Ikr?

I certainly prefer Steam because it has nice features (e.g. Steam Input), but I can also add non-Steam games as needed as well.

The only thing i hate about steam is the DRM that takes resources and makes games slow at the start

The menus still look like placeholders, but the track in the video looks amazing compared to what was in my memory of some fairly ancient version

I'd totally pick this back up if there was a large community of people playing multiplayer. Love the improvements they've made.

I'm sure if they rewrote it in GDScript they'd have more contributors. But it's impressive that they've been going for so long.

I wouldn't be so sure ... contributors are hard to come by. You need people with time AND the experience or strong desire to learn.

There are a lot more people that have ideas about making contributions than actually make contributions.

Yeah I get why they initially went for the stack they did, but it would be cool to see a similar project in godot

SuperTuxKart is definitely needed!
