"There are too many ugly woke women in games."

Why aren't there video game protagonists that look like him? There's definitely plenty of guys that look like that in real life.

"This is the ideal male body. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like."

I had an instructor long ago jokingly claimed to be trying to become a sphere, the most perfect shape to him.

Let’s be real they didn’t like the forespoken lady for other reasons.

(It was racism)

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 months ago

I mean there's probably a lot of racists, but let's not pretend the game was good or funny or interesting and was brigaded by trolls here. Forespoken was dogshit that deserved to be mocked.

Wasn't the gameplay choppy? Like, it was poorly optimized and couldn't run worth a damn?

[–] jontree255 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yeah I’m not going to defend the game itself, but I think it got additional hate because the main character is black.

[–] Duamerthrax 6 points 2 months ago

It's impossible to tell because shit floats and the publisher has a motive to highlight the racist hate it got because it detracts from the technical issues.

There's a few Black streamers I follow and the only one I saw play it, only played it once.

I think instagram and TikTok filters are doing at least as much to distort perceptions of beauty as porn

Can someone explain the "dress in hair" part to me?

[–] DarthChris 19 points 2 months ago (2 children)

It’s from Bayonetta, she’s a witch that fights using her hair and it’s also her clothes. ALSO the amount of hair she has is proportional to her health, the less she has the more skin she’s showing.

Oh now I understand why that game is so huge.

[–] arya48 3 points 2 months ago

That's not really the only reason, Bayonetta is a genuinely good character, a lot of people consider her a feminist icon because of the way she is presented. The Twitter weirdos just aren't capable of seeing much beyond the surface level.
