In part, this strikes me as practice insurrection. Mobilize a military force and see how the Fed responds, knowing you'll back down before things go really hot.
This is why they need to put Trump; and Abbot, now; in jail. along with all the other leaders.
So far, the only people who've seen and faced consequences for Jan 6 are the sorts that are entirely...disposable. Even the "leaders" of the militias... they're a dime a dozen. They can get warm bodies to flesh out the ranks, but you gotta lock up the people who are using said warm bodies.
Few things would make me happier than Abbott (and Ken Paxton and Dan Patrick) being hauled to prison in…how about northern Minnesota.

Even an 'official' insurrection would not go very far. Most people don't want it and wouldn't take part. There might be resistance pockets here and there, but that's it. Who is going to leave their job, grab a gun and go fight when they're living paycheck-to-paycheck?
By April 1862, the south had to impose a draft. The north subsequently did the same.
That's the only possible way this theorized insurrection would work. And good luck with that, Texas.
All of the right wingers I know that like trump all say the same thing: "if they come for me I'll blah blah blah".
None of them would ever leave thier house to go fight for anyone. They've got TV to watch.

I think this would be different since if there's a call to arms, they might see themselves as the aggressor instead of the potential victim.

As a Texan, I’d rather sit in prison than ever be drafted into Governor Hot Wheels’ army.
It's a pretty shitty one since Biden can just issue a go home order to the National Guard and any who don't get a cozy court martial after being dragged away by their brothers in arms.
Assuming they accept the order.
Lmao right? As if the Lobbies and their rich donors would allow the stock market to crash. Even joking about sending in any troops would make the market nervous.
Or it won't, it's certainly a step closer than where things were.
