It's not January yet! Maybe I'll diet between now and then...

[–] supercriticalcheese 8 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I did that as well, diet of mostly cheese though

[–] OrteilGenou 6 points 11 months ago

That's confusing

[–] [email protected] 8 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I've been dieting for 3 weeks since Christmas

[–] Buffaloaf 5 points 11 months ago

Same. Not a healthy diet, but a diet none the less.

Unless you hate Christmas, then it's a sudden bucket of suck, then a release back into those lovely routines and coping mechanisms.

Hmm. I might be a little broken though. Don't be like me, enjoy your Christmasses!

Edit: Actually, it's not so sudden, it's between a 3 and 12 month to Christmas each year, depending on your age/ access to advertising.

Who doesn't enjoy our annual, third of a year long Christmas-gasm!?

No don't answer that, I know what you mean:-P.

sounds like northeastern United States. As soon as I had enough money I moved to the tropics. No more gloomy 6 months every year. I couldn't bear it.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Northeastern USA is extremely cold compared to temperate Europe.

Though that is nothing compared to north midwestern states, brrr... did you know that at some point, the Fahrenheit and Celsius scales converge? :-P

[–] LemmyKnowsBest 2 points 11 months ago

I took your fun fact to a search engine and learned something new today 😄

The Fahrenheit and Celsius scales converge at -40°.

The formula used to convert Celsius(C) into Fahrenheit(F) is: F = 9 5 × C + 32.

Funny thing is in our temperate zone the whole festive christmas time is in autumn and christmas itself is at the beginning of winter. Why not move christmas to end of February or so?

I don't see anything about spoilers so ... Bruce Wayne is Batman.

[–] LemmyKnowsBest 6 points 11 months ago

dammit you just ruined Batman for me. I swear I was gonna get around to watching it eventually.

You are the kind of guy who reads sources!!! You read the rules because I told you so? What else do you do? Eat little children??

[–] [email protected] 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

So... Santa still exists here?

[–] OrteilGenou 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 4 points 11 months ago (1 children)

No spoilers exist here and it's a Christmas themed post - surely Santa was the original spoiler!?

[–] OrteilGenou 2 points 11 months ago

That woooshed me pretty hard :-)

[–] GrammatonCleric 11 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Cheese reference? Butterkase?

[–] SpaceNoodle 2 points 11 months ago

Käse literally means cheese in German.

Unsure of the year, more like

Very fitting that my birthday (tomorrow) is in that middle period since that's basically me throughout the year 😄

Though technically the latter one is also fitting 🤷

Thanks! Turned out it wasn't, though. Got Legionaire's disease and spent most of my birthday groaning, sleeping or groaning on the toilet. Not a big fan of being 41 so far..

Happy Birthday Today!
