RIP.

Relay is transitioning to a subscription model, but this whole thing has rubbed me the wrong way so I won't be using it.

I wonder if the sub will include NSFW, but I doubt it. Imagine being rate limited browsing Reddit and no NSFW posts.

the API itself won't contain nsfw from what I'm aware of so it literally is just to continue using the app that is now only slightly better than the official one :/

[–] renrenPDX 5 points 2 years ago

Well, it'll be rate limited, so you could potentially hit a limit for the month, or pay more for their higher rate tier that he's working on.

[–] TesterJ 7 points 2 years ago

It won't, it's not possible to access sexually explicit NSFW posts through the API. The dev has confirmed it.

Yeah I debated HARD on that one of for no reason other than to give dbrady money for his dedication to the community.

But ultimately, I don't want to give Reddit my money, and that is the unfortunate side effect to giving him money for the app

I want to wait and see how much the subscription is. I can easily add another $5 or less to my list of monthly subs. Any more than that, and I might have to call it a day.

I'm in a lot of niche but active communities on Reddit. Lemmy just isn't there yet for me.
