I created an account on lemmy world and posted on a lemmy.ml community. I noticed that next to my user name it says 'bot account'. Is it because i was posting on a different instance? Does it have any consequences?

It's because you checked the "bot account" box. Uncheck it in your profile.

Unless you really are a bot, in which case, please leave it as is.
