MODERATORS

I recently purchased a 32:9 monitor, and quickly realized I need a program to help snap windows to different positions, other than the default options Windows 11 provides.

Is there anything recommended I can use for this? I'd like to be able to hold a keybind and snap the windows around with arrow keys if possible.

Thanks!

Maybe FancyZones from Powertoys will do the trick?

This is the best option. Infinitely customizable, plus you get the benefit of all the other fun things you can do with Powertoys!

Not OP, but thanks for this, I've never heard of it, but it looks very useful! Installing now.

EDIT - ok, 5 minutes using this and I'm in love with FancyZones. Why on EARTH is this not included as standard??

+1 for fancyzones. It works really well and is pretty full-featured. If for whatever reason you want deeper customization and automation, AWM (Actual Window Manager) would be your best bet, but fair warning it has a very steep learning curve and can be a bit finicky.

Also +1 on fancyzones:

  • customizable window snapping
  • easy integration to replace regular window snapping, but only if you want if you want
  • can be bound to whatever hotkeys you like

I recommend the power toys suite in general
