This is the best summary I could come up with:
Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Gilday stepped down from his role Monday, leaving the Navy, Army and Marine Corps with acting heads.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Monday slammed the holds, which are stretching into a fifth month with no resolution in sight.
“Because of this blanket hold, for the first time in the history of the Department of Defense, three of our military services are operating without Senate confirmed leaders,” Austin said during a relinquishment ceremony at the U.S.
“Smooth and swift transitions of confirmed leadership are central to the defense of the United States and to the full strength of the most lethal fighting force in history,” Austin said.
“And it’s time for the Senate to confirm all of our superbly qualified military nominees, including the 33rd chief of Naval Operations.”
“This particular stand is necessary because the Biden administration has shown that, unless held accountable, they will continue to violate the law and use our tax dollars to promote an extreme left wing agenda,” a statement from Tuberville’s office said.
I'm a bot and I'm open source!
I think the most important paragraph was missed:
The tl;dr kind of makes it sound like the Senate Democrats are responsible for the holds. It's just one Republican and his anti-woke crusade.
God I hate these dumb fucks and idiots that can’t think with more than 2 brain cells. No long term planning or thinking. Just “oh my semi-ideological opponent wants it? Nah” Half of the US really went crazy because a black man was elected president. And they still haven’t gotten over it almost a decade later.
If the seething rage some Republicans still feel over Nixon is anything to go by, they'll never get over this sleight against their being, and they'll continuously demand an additional pound of flesh in recompense every chance they get.
Because they weren't held accountable last time, it's 10 times worse this time. And if we let them get away with it again, there won't be another chance to hold them accountable because they'll destroy this country before that happens again. Hell, they're practically destroying it now.
Jinx : D
This is exactly why I think this bot is problematic.
tldr omits the "why" so if you're not reading the article or not already aware :
Blocked by one single Republican
Let's be honest, he says it's about abortion. But he is really throwing a fit to try and get Space Command and Space Force headquarters in Alabama. As usual it's about the money that would bring to his district.
