MODERATORS

Hi,

Having a problem with [email protected] when users visit on different instances. We use pinned posts for race and session discussion, but it appears that some of these posts are getting stuck for users who view from another instance.

Viewing the community from feddit.uk or feddit.de shows the Hungarian practice session from two weeks ago still pinned, and lemmy.ml shows the Belgian sprint race from last week.

I wasn't aware of this until now, but it makes it harder for users on other instances to use the community during live events.

This sounds like a known issue: moderators setting a post to featured doesn’t work properly if they are logged in to an instance other than the one the community is hosted on.

Similar but different, native mod, external user

Hm, you are right - looks like it has gotten worse.

The bug I referenced has been confirmed to be a federation issue, so it might be related. It does seem to be intermittent when the mod is native, where it is 100% when the mod is remote.
