Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Protest voters did not meaningfully impact the election

[–] SinningStromgald 3 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

I hate how horribly accurate that meme is.

[–] givesomefucks -3 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

If it makes you feel any better, most of the people they're accusing voted D just like they always do...

[–] disguy_ovahea 7 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago)

It was never about your vote. It was about the impact of a one-sided message on the votes of others.

Criticism of Biden’s handling of Gaza was completely fair. That topic had no place in discussing the election unless fairly compared to the alternative we see here.

Did you want to show me an example of you treating an ongoing genocide as a joke like a trump supporter would?

Edit:

Nevermind, you literally mod a trump sub and a sub about trolling, no wonder you act like a trump supporter

[–] LovingHippieCat 5 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

Just so ya know, @Breadsmasher mods a sub called the_Donald (which I assume is what you're talking about) that is dedicated to documenting trumps crimes. NOT a pro-trump sub.

I highly recommend clicking through when you find something like that, often it's a terrible sub but there's also times when it's not what you'd expect. As for the other sub, that's called lemmyDrama, which is just about lemmy drama, like how r/subredditdrama on reddit is about drama. So I wouldn't call that trolling. But that might just be my opinion on what trolling is.

exactly. fuck trump. he is destroying america. the little that remains

[–] givesomefucks -2 points 5 hours ago

That would make sense, if they didn't seem to spend an inordinate amount of time accusing people of not voting because they talk about what the party could do better, and "joking" about genocide.

I took a look at their first page of post history and didn't have to dig any deeper to block them.

I don't think I'd have found anything constructive if I scrolled deeper.

I mean, do you honestly think anyone watched the last three elections and think the best path forward is attacking the left?

Even if they're being genuine, it's a terrible strategy to get Dems back in power.

So whether it's intentional or not doesn't really matter. They're actively hurting the party with every comment they make.

He’s a stupid fucking clown, and so are all these people blaming people who are anti genocide for a genocide both the democrats and republicans have been enabling and perpetuating. It’s fucking bonkers to see.

[–] givesomefucks -1 points 6 hours ago (2 children)

It's just so disappointing watching "moderates" side with literal trump supporters and falling for propaganda that makes them attack the very people they need for the Dem party to win elections.

The left can win without the middle, that's how Obama got elected to both his terms, but the middle can't win without the left.

All the middle shitting on the left does is help Republicans. But they just won't stop doing it. They'd honestly rather have a Republican over a progressive.

Ken Martin wasn't my first pick, but I'm still hopeful he'll steer the party in the right direction. Shits too important not to.

Jill Stein sure hasn't been in the news since the election 🤔

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 hours ago

And that’s just it right there. Libs don’t understand it and would rather attack the left than try to work together with them. And then they’ll try to blame fascism on the left(?!?) it’s so fucking stupid and tiresome.
