FWIW - IMO all athletes should be subject to controls, and meet certain testosterone levels depending on their class, not just trans.
Wait can you rephrase or cite another voice on what you are saying here. You come off as a reactionary conservative here but your below comments suggest to me you are actually a lot more normal and you just wrote your thoughts in a way that confused people so they downvoted. /gen
Why? 90% of high level athletics is genetics. Basically all your top athletes started out with a massive advantage over the general public. That is why Olympic gold and 4th+ place can be separated by a fraction of a second because everyone is amazing.
If we are banning girls with high T shall we also ban the tall ones too?
You are being trained to whine about fake problems
It's definitely a real problem, but certainly not nearly as big as it's made out to be given how few trans athletes there really are.
No. It's not. How people are going to be able to afford food, is a problem. How people are going to be able to afford housing, is a problem. How are people going to be able to pay off their debt. You know...real problems affecting literally hundreds of thousands of Americans...not whether or not an extremely marginalized group can play a highschool sport. You are a pawn being used to erode our rights, and you play right into it.
What about people with cognitive disabilities? What about people with mobility challenge? What about blind people?
It's telling you think trying to help minorities is eroding "our" rights. Us and who?
Do you have any idea just how expensive it would be to do testing on every athlete?
There were 7.8 million student athletes in the US last year and the average cost of a testosterone test is 70 - 100 bucks. Even using conservative estimations, you'd need to spend half a BILLION dollars PER YEAR to accomplish this. And the worst part? Do you know how many of those 7.8 million were trans students? Five.
Not Five thousand. Not Fifty. Five.
You are being distracted and lied to.
I am not saying we should, but if apparently it needs to be done, we should rethink categories and classes more broadly, not in “boys” or “girls” terms.
