To be clear, he did vote for Trump in 2016, but is registered as an unaffiliated voter, voted in the Democratic primary in 2024, and apparently voted against Trump in 2020, donating to multiple Democratic candidates.

I just want the facts as they stand to not be overshadowed by a meme.

"Democratic candidates" meaning Tulsi Gabbard.

You're correct that he did like Tulsi Gabbard, and that he also announced that Trump would win reelection if he prosecuted police misconduct (something I wouldn't say is very right leaning). He also donated 140 USD to ActBlue (Dem Super Pac I think. Point is, they are a group that supports Dems).

he also wanted to go to Ukraine to fight against Russians apparently. He feels like just a crazy extremist that actually didn't like Trump. I don't know what made him support Trump to begin with when many of what he seemingly wanted don't align with Trump.

Yeah, he wanted to move the democrats further right. That's an issue (or benefit maybe) of primaries is that you can vote in the "opposition" primary to attempt to move them closer to your views. It does not make you a member of that party (except in the states where membership is a requirement, but that still doesn't mean you support them).

Voting against Trump definitely doesn't make you not a conservative/republican. Personally, I'd argue voting for him does that.

Conservatives will latch on to the Democratic donations and use it as "evidence' that the guy was 100% a democrat through and thought and that democrats are the only ones trying to assassinate their political opposition, I guarantee it.

They did exactly the same thing with the last attempt.

Thanks for this! Just looked it up before your comment, and jup. Factuality in this day and age is not to be understated.
