Many people, especially libertarians, imagine a government to be a highly corruptible monolith; they also imagine these companies to be dynamic and ever changing.
Thus a government will always be corrupt and always try to push you down; Coca-Cola might be corrupt for now but will grow out of it as soon as we get new blood in leadership roles. Heck, I might even be the one to do it. Get in on the ground floor, put in a little time and elbow grease, you never know.
It’s obviously not a position based in reality or historic precedent.
Yeah. I just never understood how a corporation owning everything and controlling it is different than a corrupt politician doing it personally.
It’s not really different. But that’s why I believe some people think it is.
