You know if there were ever a group of people that deserved to fully understand what it means to be firebombed it's the fucking heritage foundation.
The federalist society is right there with them.
Don’t forget the John Birch society
Id also add PragerU to that list, though thats mostly cause they are dangerous and annoying.
They for sure belong but I think they are mostly powered by the other think tanks mentioned
Its an incestuous relationship between them, they feed into eachother. If it wasnt for PragerU and similar propagandistic groups the upper think tanks would be a lot weaker in influence, then once they have more power they immediately dump it into the propagandists who can spread their influence farther
Im personally in the if you wipe out the propaganda arms ya will have an infinitely easier time, Fox, OAN, PragerU, and talk radio as a whole not to mention Youtubers are basically the only thing maintaining the on the ground elements of the Right wing. They fet bored easily and would probably just do boring normal crap if you stripped away the propaganda, hell they may get happier in some cases a car parts store in my area changed out fox news on the TV in favor of a super playlist of youtube videos going over old weird cars like Yugos and Polskis. This has limited the rightwing grousing in there.
100% agree with you, only contention I would make is that none of those propaganda outlets would exist without the societies that preceded them by a few decades. But from a dismantling their power perspective you are quite on point about destroying their implements of radicalization
Yeah I dont care about the predecessor groups since in most ways the gsme has changed since then. Theyre still dangerous but well its easier to fight a bobcat after youve dealt with the mountain lion.
Cot damn bro... a bit extreme, no?
Not in the slightest.
They and the federalist society are the ones pushing the absolutely disgusting changes the Republican party is trying to make. They give the "short list" of judges for Republicans presidents to choose from. They are fully responsible for the shit we're about to go through now that their project is almost complete.
Everything that's been tried up to the extreme has had no effect, so, it's time to escalate. You can't beat cheaters and liars and thieves and murderers by playing by the rules and being nice and polite. If the Democrats don't do something, democracy is gone in November and it won't be coming back to the USA.
Do high crimes demand extreme punishments?
Treason? Yeah on an individual basis. Home boy here and his upvoters supports firebombing humans. Imagine saying the same chit about AIPAC or the ADL? lol smh.
Anyway, if you guys want to support literal acts of terrorism, good luck on your future prospects.
I hear ya, but we also know the window for legally resolving this constitutional crisis is quickly closing. So I take this talk as sort of, "this is where we are heading if things don't change". I don't support the coming of these times, but I do want to highlight the urgency. We do not want a version of "The Troubles" like the Irish did.
You got downvoted for this? Damn, Lemmy, you never fail to disappoint me.
Bro, this is a weird place. I was just commenting about how Google sucks for searching up solutions to technical issues I come across at work, so I utilize AI. People got hostile and my comments deleted. I can't wrap my head around some of the communities.
Did your parents make it through the closed borders while that happened?
My grandparents came to the U.S. and became citizens through the legal route.
You do realize when people say, "close the border", the message is to literally close off the U.S. border with a wall. There's nothing wrong with immigrants coming to this country through the legal channels.
The echo chamber here can be a bit too strong, just like Reddit. I wish Lemmy would stop mass downvoting simple questions, even if they disagree with it.
