One of the core tenets of "Star Trek" is an undercurrent of pacifism. The ships we see in any given "Star Trek" series are usually research vessels devoted to missions of exploration and study. Just as often, they do repair work on distant worlds, help planets in severe environmental trouble, or taxi diplomats to important peace talks. And while the U.S.S. Enterprise is equipped with weapons like phasers and photon torpedoes, they are only very rarely assigned a mission of combat. More often, the crew of the Enterprise will threaten a potential battlefield foe while still doing everything they can to avoid war.

My father got himself a laser cutting machine for Christmas. He found the plans for this kit and cut it out. I've spent the last couple weeks slowly assembling/gluing it together. Today, it is finished.

I've only found this on amazon.de and they have no stock. Doing a web search turns up nothing. It's like it never existed, but the listing on amazon.de says it was released on January 31st 2023. Can anyone help?

The authors (according to the listing) are Crewman Daniels, Rick Sternbach, Michael Okuda, Trevor Gleeson, Mike Smith, David Ultra, Susan McNichols. But it's independently published which makes no sense. Maybe it's a scam. Here's the Amazon link https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dp/B0BTKSP6QF/?coliid=I1TE4A8V7P0RQ3&colid=2P50FYXVDWCJ8&psc=0&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it

This was a special designed to introduce Season 2 of TNG and I remember Patrick Stewart talking about what we could expect and being so excited.

I was 11.

It seems that Cardassians would probably be annoyed and bored by most historical earth procedural shows. Columbo though lets them know up front who is guilty and of what, and the rest of the running time is the investigator mentally toying with the perpetrator. I think it would be very appealing to Cardassians to watch a protagonist that forces a perpetrator to break down and confess their crimes in every episode.

"She was given a receipt that said 'plates destroyed.' But for the next four years, Ms. Koorey, 75, was entangled in state bureaucracy and caught in the zeal of “Star Trek” fans ..."

Found the audiobook on youtube https://youtu.be/taZ84g9RJJw Wondering if it's a good listen.

Wiki says it's after the movie "Generations" and the Borg take Kirk's body.

Where is a new set of actors for TNG? If a new TNG series/movie was made, who could the actors be for that?

(You have to go to their website to watch because, as of posting this, it's not listed on YouTube.)

These guys get it. This is what long-time Trek fans want from new Trek. Something daring and new and with tremendous respect for the existing franchise.

Some of the shots of Kirk look pretty plastic and almost humorous, but some of them are frighteningly real.

I was thinking about this while we've been doing the Khan memes.

La'an is a descendent of Khan, meaning she has genetically augmented DNA.

If Una had a kid and didn't augment that kid's DNA further, could that kid legally be in Starfleet?

Is there a "as long as your own personal DNA wasn't augmented, you can be in Starfleet?" Because that doesn't make much sense to me.
