I'll check next time I see him but to me it looks like it could be Commercial Course.

Update: All we know is that it was to do with shorthand writing and typing. Apparently she had a typing speed of around 130 WPM, and that was on those clunkers of typewriters.

A local elderly man showed me this certificate which belonged to his mother and I had to take a picture. I'm sharing it with permission and the surname redacted. The design is quite beautiful and one of the things I miss about older Ireland, as well as the design of our slightly older currency.

Some backstory: This woman was treated horrifically by the church and had her child forcefully taken from her. Also, when she got this qualification she became one of the most proficient people in the local administration at her job but because she was a woman, she would never be promoted beyond the job she had at the time. Less capable men passed her by to become her boss.

This post originally was just to show the beautiful certificate but now I think the story is just as important. I'm glad that the vast majority of people in the country do not want to return to the dark ages.

Ireland was officially neutral during WWII. It covertly supported the Allies in many ways. Dev did offer condolences on Hitler's death, but that was out of protocol and the difficulty of maintaining neutrality under external pressure. You won't last long in this community misrepresenting facts that are so easily verifiable.

More accurate headline: 'Israel' to automate indiscriminate killing of Palestinians.

That's a very good point.

Even for static sites, the client doesn't want to pay a dev to make a blog post for them so I usually set up Wordpress for them. It is a pain though. The constant updates and vulnerabilities are a fairly big undertaking if they're not used to it.

When the design and deployment is done, what system are you most confident handing over to your client to manage?

Check the OP’s name on Reddit :)

It’s a start, but as the campaigner says in the article, this falls short of what they were asking for.

I believe that only 4% of Americans care enough about foreign policy for it to affect their vote in this presidential election. That’s according to @millenialrox on TikTok, who was sharing a breakdown of voting stats. So I wonder if Palestine really had substantial influence.

That’s a great point and absolutely true IMO.

I’d like to get away from phones with a backlight, at least for my next non-smartphone.

That is a long article that eventually links you to watch a video to learn how to do it. Here’s the link:

A rocket could lift 100-150 tonnes of trash. We have about 60 billion tonnes of trash.

If I put it away I might never know it exists again. On the other hand the clutter means I can’t find what’s right in front of me. It’s hell in here.

We are a group of hobbyists managing a mailing list. Mailchimp insists on SMS authentication to login now which has scuppered our plans to spread the workload.

Are there any free / cheap services that would receive a text messages and forward it by email to several people? If not, is there an alternative way to deal with this situation? We’re not necessarily attached to mail chimp but delivery is important.

I’m happily serving a few websites and services publicly. Now I would like to host my Navidrome server, but keep the contents private on the web to stay out of trouble. I’m afraid that when I install a reverse proxy, it’ll take my other stuff ~~online~~ offline and causes me various headaches that I’m not really in the headspace for at the moment. Is there a safe way to go about doing this selectively?

I'm losing my mind. This old graphics tablet connects to the PS/2 port on an old PC for power. There's a separate serial cable for the actual data connection. I want to supply it power without needing to connect it to a PS/2 port, so an adapter for USB would be ideal.

I know others have achieved this but I can't find the details. Can anyone help? The search results are full of Playstations because it misinterprets the "PS/2" part.
