An LW admin has confirmed that grow topics including photos and discussion are allowed so long as they can reasonably construed as educational. So don't encourage people to grow and don't get too specific when discussing your methods (sourcing, trading, sales). However, I expect hunting and identifying to fall under educational content.

Our community rules are:

  1. Follow the Lemmy World Terms of Service.
  2. Be helpful.
  3. No trading of anything here.
  4. Do not post about vendors.
  5. No Irrelevant Content.
  6. No grow guides and don't encourage others to grow.

I was specifically told by LW admins that we should model our rules after /c/trees and that the applicable jurisdiction is the Netherlands. So if anyone can cite some sources on what the actual laws are there, it will help me be as lenient as possible when enforcing rules here.

It started as a zombiemyco bag which was birthed into a monotub when it started pinning. The shrooms that exist look good, but there's only a few of them. What could a shrooms farmer do next time to get a better flush?

I'm going to ask my psychiatrist before making decisions about dosing, but I am looking for personal experiences.

Reason for asking: In the Microdosing Handbook, the author says that atypical antipsychotics should theoretically render mushrooms ineffective because they block the 5-HT2A serotonin receptors that psilocin acts upon.

I'm on Vraylar. However, when I took 0.5 grams of shrooms, I definitely felt some mild sensory and cognitive effects.

Shipping spores to Hawaii? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

Apparently, spores are legal here for microscopy. It's a long shot, but does anyone have experience shipping spores here? Did they run into issues with them going through agriculture?

What is a good album by them for next time?

I always listened to random tracks by them, never a full playthrough on an album though.

Hey all my boyfriend wants to do shrooms for his bday and I wanted to drop a question in here as I’ll be trip sitting. I have never done any psychedelic myself, i only smoke weed.

He’s done shrooms before and says he “usually starts with a little over 1.5g and then takes 3.5g an hour or so in”. He’ll be taking PE and maybe one GT — both of which I grew last year.

Personally 5g of PE in an hour sounds like a lot to me but I don’t have any evidence to back that up.

Anyone suggest starting lower?

I recently left for a trip(the non mushroom kind) for 9 days, leaving my mono-tub with no visible pins. When I returned I found that many fruited (golden teacher) mushrooms had deposited large quantities of black spores all over the container. I picked them, where upon they felt of normal firmness, and dehydrated them on the day of my return.

I suspect I don’t have anything to worry about, as I don’t see any signs of contamination. However, as this is only my second flush on my first grow, I’m hoping someone more experienced here might lend me their advice on the matter.

Thanks!

[UPDATE 11/16/2023]: LW admin AvaddonFC has confirmed that photos of your grows are allowed.

Hello everyone, I just wanted to take a moment to make sure we are all up to speed on this community's rules. /c/Shrooms was reopened on the condition that we enforce LW's TOS. Feel free to post your questions here or shoot me a PM.

Our community rules as they currently stand:
1. Follow the Lemmy World Terms of Service.
2. Be helpful.
3. No trading of anything here. (See rule 1.)
4. Do not post about vendors. (See rule 1.)
5. No Irrelevant Content.
6. No instructions on how to grow or where to source materials.

~~I know that rule 6 is a bit broad and potentially vague. I have messaged an admin for clarification and will update this post when I receive a response. For now, I believe it's best to air on the side of caution and remove all posts about growing.~~

I have been taking shrooms for over a decade now and I think I'm finally out of movies to watch, so I was hoping to crowd source some recommendations here and maybe even throw together a film list for fellow Lemmy psychonauts.

I tend to focus on comedies - I've seen all Mel Brooks films (except Silent Movie), Monty Python, all things MST3K/Elvira/Svenghoulie. The classics like Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Dazed & Confused, as well as, "good" B movies/flops like Tank Girl.

That being said, I've seen a ton of cerebral films too, along the lines of Waking Life for example.

All I can think of to watch right now is Rango, History of the world part 2 and Freakazoid season 2....these are mostly choices out of desperation at this point, ha (except Rango). Maybe Animaniacs (new & old)? Cloud Atlas?

So, if you have any obscure comedy recommendations, cerebral films, documentaries, let em rip! (To paraphrase Leslie Nielsen). I'll compile a master list here after a month (?) of postings.

Thanks!

Albino penis envy, first time grower got a few small bins going.

I haven't. Aside from the short term effect of having to sleep the whole next day after a trip, there isn't anything I can notice.

However, as my tolerance and experience grows I am finding that sleep is coming easier.

Tried making some blue honey for the first time yesterday! Just went with a small jar for a test run.

Ok so here’s my math on the weights- 3 fluid ounces = 18 teaspoons. 3 fluid ounces of honey weighs approx. 4.5 ounces, or 127 grams.

I ended up putting 120g honey in that little jar, along with 11.5g ground dried cubensis.

Assuming I indeed have 3 fluid ounces or 18tsp of honey, if I divide 11.5 by 18, that would make approx .64 grams per teaspoon.

So that’s about what I was aiming for, but it looks like a jar of doodoo lol. It was also getting pretty thick when mixing. I’m happy, but it definitely doesn’t look like the pictures I see online! Anyway, has anyone else tried this? What’s your recipe/ratio?

Posting for personal posting clarity as well as to put out something for thought to the community.

I'm not sure what r/shrooms policy was on this, I don't recall really noticing Amanita related posts on there though.

Amanita mushrooms are NOT psylocibin mushrooms but instead have different chemistry involved. Many guides mark them as poisonous, but some Amanita varieties, most commonly and notably Amanita Muscaria, are psychedelic in nature. Use of these mushrooms in such a manner dates back centuries, likely millenia, in regions with pine forests.

I'm in favor of including all mushrooms of psychedelic nature, but it is important to consider this for the community moving forward.

I've started seeing Amanita Muscaria popping up in smoke shops in my area in the US all of a sudden. It's generally legal and ignored, but it seems like it is going the way of Delta 8 and all the cannabinoids here soon. So expect to see WAY more discussion of mushrooms in reference to Amanita Muscaria in the coming months/years.

It’s kinda handy when you have a fuller canopy and you want to harvest at the perfect time! And more importantly, it’s fun lol :)

Spawned to bulk 6/1. Not sure why they're splitting, humidity seems good.
