Was somehow logged out of my account, and can’t log back in because says password or username is wrong, changed it- still says it’s wrong. So I’m locked out of my own account.

Guess that’s it then as I have no patience for their shit to even bother contacting them about this.

Started to get this message when accessing Reddit. I use LibreWolf as a browser, which does indeed provide a more generic user agent to combat fingerprinting, but nothing out of the ordinary either (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/119.0). Anyone else experiencing this?

Edit: seems to have resolved itself. Thanks for confirming I wasn't doing anything wrong. Let's hope this isn't some new algorithm to test if for insufficient fingerprinting so Reddit can kick ad-resistant users.

I posted a comment with a link to an article on CNN and several links to architecture and construction websites. It seems like reddit doesn't like comments with untrusted links? Are they being subtly hidden from the thread?

If this is being done at any scale at all I wonder if it's a significant cause of the feeling that the internet has shrunk into a few main sites, linking to a recognizable relatively small selection of news and media sources.

Just in case anyone here was wondering how Reddit's numbers are looking these days...

Just curious what the hive mind over there is thinking. I used to lurk Reddit before I switched to Lemmy during the mass exodus.

I’ve really just been getting most of my news from Lemmy these days and not paying much attention to MSM. Obviously the things I’m reading here sounds like Isreal is commuting war crimes with their amped up response from the original attack.

Curious if there’s any kind of divide on Reddit regarding the conflict.

I used to be a lot on r/travel. Back then there were posts with pictures that had upvote ls in the triple to quadruple digit range. There were also user questions, usually in the double digits.

Now the majority is just discussions that mysteriously have thousands of upvotes. And some of them quite boring. That must be bots or fakes directly by reddit. No way this happens naturally.

Is this common practice now or is that something r/travel did specifically?

This is the third attempt they’ve made to work with that guy that actually got routed to me because their salespeople don’t do their due diligence. Shocking.

Edit; a little extra context: I have an email alias on a domain similar to one he might use, and regularly receive email addressed to him. Reddit marketing folks reached out in a less cookie cutter manner a couple times last year, this is more of a mailing list outreach attempt.
