GM took a page out of Bethesda Softworks' release playbook with shoddy code that broke infotainment and limited fast charging to 5 kW.

Hello everyone,

I'm on the lookout for books that delve into the nuances of driving on the US public road system, with a focus similar to what "Stick and Rudder" offers for flying. I've recently read "How to Drive" by The Stig and I'm eager to explore more in this genre.

Specifically, I'm interested in books that offer detailed, technical insights into driving – be it for everyday road use or advanced driving skills. I'm fascinated by the depth and detail found in "Stick and Rudder" regarding flying, and I'm hoping to find something of a similar caliber related to driving.

Does anyone have recommendations for books that provide a comprehensive and technical approach to driving, especially those that might be beneficial for someone looking to deepen their understanding and skills on the road?

Any suggestions for titles or authors to explore would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

So yesterday, a marten visited me, it probably wanted to make a den in the space between the soundproofing wall of the engine and the cabin, it tried to eat the foam in the space between and scattered it all over the engine bay, because surprise - it is actually foam and not cotton candy. And because it probably didn't like it there, it bit through the hoses in the cooling circuit, I'm guessing somewhere near the heat converter to the cabin (the heater didn't start even after a few km, I attributed it to the cold morning). I found out that something was wrong only after 10 minutes while driving uphill, when the temperature needle shot from a beautiful optimum to red faster than a rocket with Gagarin into space. I already suspected that something was wrong, so I opened the hood and the coolant was everywhere except in the cooling system and I see the foam from soundproof wall everywhere. It probably didn't bite it all the way through, but only a little, so when the car was stationary, nothing leaked, so there was no puddle under the car either, but when the coolant pump started, it logically started to gush out like a shot deer. Then I opened the coolant tank after it had cooled, and there was about as much of it as is left in a bottle of voda after hardcore Finish rave.

Now I'm dreading what the service bill will be like. I will probably say fuck it when it comes tothe soundproofing wall, the car is a beater anyway, but I assume that the new radiator hoses will be needed. Do you have similar experiences, how much did such a bloody uninvited visit cost you?

Sometimes I have to drive after dark in my city, and it never fails that if I drive any appreciable distance that I always see at least one person (often more) driving with their lights off. I do not need to tell y'all why this is dangerous. We're a community of enthusiasts. We know. Plenty of us are driving older cars that predate the tech.

It's not like they don't mandate lots of shit already. Seatbelts, head restraints, airbags, and backup cameras are some of the most sensible things ever required for cars to have. Why are automatic headlights not on this list? There also needs to exist a mandate whereby the lights turn on if the driver turns on the wipers. Because if you need your wipers, you need your lights too. It's common freaking sense.

Your headlights aren't just for seeing, but for being seen. Ambient light sensors are so cheap that they end up in midrange TVs all the time. I blame the backlit gauges and myriad other interior lights. Ergo, it's time to mandate automatic headlights. There's no reason not to.

I'll get off my soapbox now.

I saw this in an old Indian movie. I was curious what car this was. My guess is it is 1977 Camaro. What do you think this is?

It's literally two front ends of a first gen Accord welded together. They put so much effort into it, they even blended the body panels, shortened the doors, and changed out the rear "headlights" for red lenses.

I love honda engineers so much.

My least favorite is from 2000 To 2010, and my favorite is 2011 to 2021. There is nothing About specific cars, I just do not like how Most of the cars look In that Period.

I was at the Los Angeles Auto show this weekend. I go nearly every year. I usually don't stand in line for anything like rides or the gimmicks, but i usually check everything out.
