Recipe. In spite of getting interrupted multiple times while mixing and piping, they came out pretty good. Wish I'd made the color darker. They are delicious.

Welcome bakers to week 44! Can you believe it is almost November? I hope you are all having a great year, as we embark on this week's challenge: piping. Whether it’s for decorating, or for shaping, this week grab your piping bag (and if you want the piping tips) and let’s get to it!

Here, as always, some ideas:

Recipe. They're deceptively easy to make. Could use more flavor. Next time I would add some cottage cheese and some kind of seasoning.

Welcome bakers to week 43! My absolute favorite challenges are the ones when we get to explore other countries' traditional recipes. This week is Indonesia! Indonesia has hundreds of regional cuisines, so there is a lot to look for. Here are a few that we found online to serve you as inspiration:

Kue Dadar Gulung: https://whattocooktoday.com/kue-dadar-stuffed-coconut-pancakes.html

Lapis Legit: https://www.thespruceeats.com/indo-dutch-spekkoek-recipe-1128478

Honestly, who gives a fuck about an Oxford comma?

If you've never heard this song by Subwoolfer you're in for a treat.

I can't eat bananas without suffering debilitating stomach pain, but artificial flavor is fine. So I made filling out of instant sugar-free pudding. These are the best choux buns I've ever made.

Welcome bakers to week 42! Let’s get some music in the kitchen as we take some of your favorite songs and turn it into something. This week you have free will to use that inspiration however you may imagine.

Here are some sample recipes, of what I can fathom, but I imagine everyone here has million more ideas:

Cake by the Ocean (DNCE): https://thescranline.com/cake-by-the-ocean-beach-cake/

The Worst Pies in London (Sweeney Todd): https://www.feastofstarlight.com/recipe/sweeney-todd-mrs-lovetts-meat-pies/

Watermelon Sugar (Harry Styles): https://sugarspunrun.com/watermelon-sugar-cookies/#recipe

Happy baking!

I was afraid these walnut sugar cookies wouldn't be strong enough to support ice cream, but it turns out my downfall was making this frozen honey cream instead of actual ice cream. So I just crumbled some cookie into a bowl of ice cream. The honey flavor overpowers everything else, but both items are good on their own.

Welcome bakers to week 41! For those of us in the southern hemisphere it’s a good time of year to embrace the spring and make something cold. For those of you in the northern hemisphere, maybe to not let go of the summer, as this week we are making a frozen treat.

Here you have some ideas to help you out:

Ice-Cream Sandwich: https://keepinitkind.com/brownie-ice-cream-sandwiches/

Icebox Cake (Chocotorta) https://www.copymethat.com/r/pSUfymcme/argentinian-chocotorta/

Frozen Chocolate and Hazelnut Cheesecake: https://www.olivemagazine.com/recipes/baking-and-desserts/frozen-chocolate-and-hazelnut-cheesecake/

Honey and Peach SemiFreddo: https://www.purewow.com/recipes/honey-peach-semifreddo Happy baking!

Went off of this recipe only i used a roind cake ring instead of a square one. I'm not happy with how the carmalized hazelnut crunch turned out, as it became way to solid, and the glazing didnt want to stick to the sides of the cake, but all the flavors were absolutely amazing?

I just combined a bunch of different things in a mousse pan. Cookie dough cake, hazelnut mousse, edible cookie dough, baravois, and chocolate mirror glaze. The whole thing looks better in person than in photos, but it didn't slice well. Tastes good though.

Welcome bakers to week 40! Can you believe we’re 40 weeks into the challenge? I surely can’t.

I hope you are feeling creative, because this week's challenge is all about entremets. What are entremets? Back in the day an entremets was a sweet offering, traditionally served up at banquets as a little treat between savoury courses. More recently they've become a way of chefs showing off their pastry prowess by way of creating a complex cake made up of various layers of different dessert techniques.

According to what I found online, each entremets should include layers that each give textures of spongy, creamy, bubbly, crunchy and wobbly. Each of these should be different, but work well together, for an overall delicious flavour.

No easy task! Feel free to choose the textures you like the best, but try to include at least two, and two techniques in this complicated dessert.

Here are some recipes to help you out:

Chocolate Entremet Cake: https://sugargeekshow.com/recipe/chocolate-entremet-cake/

Strawberry Domes: https://veenaazmanov.com/strawberry-mousse-domes-entremets/

Honey and Passionfruit: https://www.inlovewithcake.com/en/honey-and-passion-fruit-entremet/

I hope you all have time and patience this week!

Happy baking!

I'm not much of a bread guy, but figured i would give some brötchen a go! My currywurst is pretty lackluster, but the brötchen is awesome! I added about a teaspoon of ground mustard to it to give it a bit extra German umf and i am incredibly happy with it! The beer is Frankenmuth Oktoberfest out of Frankenmuth ❌ichigan. The stein is from Twin Oast Brewery out Catawba Island Ohio. Their Oastoberfest is my favorite Oktoberfest around here and I have been going for several years now.

Proast! Have fun, and be safe!

Hi bakers! This week, the challenge is Oktoberfest. This autumn folk festival, currently on in Munich until October 4th, celebrates Bavarian culture and of course, beer! Bake a traditional recipe that might be served at Oktoberfest, or decorate your bake with an Oktoberfest theme.

Here, as always, are a few example recipes. Happy baking, and happy Oktoberfest!

Apfelstrudel (Authentic German Apple Strudel)

Prinzregententorte (a traditional Bavarian eight layer cake)

Oktoberfest Decorated Gingerbread Hearts

These chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter icing, dipped in chocolate ganache have a delicious homemade buckeye sitting right on top! If you love peanut butter, its a treat for you! But be warned that making buckeyes can be a tedious endeavor.

Furthermore, go Buckeyes and beat that team up north!

For the non-English among you, Pimms is a botanical, gin-based liqueur. A Pimms cup is the perfect summer cocktail with bright citrus flavors if the liqueur being brought out by the cucumber, lemon, and mint in the drink. There is a lot of variation on how people make their own Pimms Cup, but my Geordie mother always make a pitcher with plenty of ice, ginger beer, cucumber and lemon slices, with a mint leaf for garnish. We are experiencing the summer's last hurrah here in NW Ohio so i figured it would be a perfect time to go a Pimms cake!

I based it off of this cucumber cake recipe but added a few twists to make it a Pimms cake. The cake has a teaspoon of ginger powder and a tablespoon of molasses to represent the ginger beer, a splash of peppermint extract in the icing, and i subbed out the gin for Pimms No. 1. I recommend a quarter teaspoon for the peppermint extract in the icing. I used half a teaspoon but it was too strong and overpowered all the interesting flavors of the Pimms No. 1 in the icing. Maybe next time I'll put the peppermint extract in the cake and put the ginger powder in the icing. Either way, it's an excellent summer snack for the adults!

Recipe. Very good. I was having a bird themed birthday so in lieu of fruit, I topped them with a chocolate feather. Wish I could have gotten a rich purple hue for the frosting like the original recipe.

Recipe. I used chickpea flour instead of coconut, and had to double it to get the shapes to cut out well enough. The more intricate ones (star and flower) didn't come out as well as rounded shapes. Dog tax in comments.

Hi bakers! This week, your challenge is to make a recipe that only uses one bowl (or other mixing container - if you were thinking of using a ziplock bag or pan instead to mix ingredients, think again, haha). Below, as always, are a few example recipes that fit the theme. Happy baking!

One Bowl Brownies

Easy Oatmeal Cookies

One Bowl Lemon Blueberry Quick Bread

Recipe. I added orange zest to the pudding, and angostura bitters plus maraschino cherry juice to the sauce. Very good.

I also made my own brioche and it came out perfect.

Hi bakers! Can you believe it's September already?! This week, your challenge is to make a treat the flavors of which are based on a cocktail. Your bake can include alcohol but definitely doesn't have to.

For example...

Mojito Cupcakes

Gin and Tonic Biscuits

Smoked Old Fashioned Cocktali Layer Cake (drool)
