The lights bother me and something makes a high pitched sound that bothers me (tho this is getting better as my hearing goes).

I don't think there is a good reason for anyone to buy Bitcoin, let alone the US government.

Lemmy, reading Kindle books, finding recipes, looking up facts to prove my husband wrong, shopping.

You know, as a kid I thought the bad guys in Captain Planet were a bit silly and over the top. How wrong I was...

Talk to your boss before your next shift - being proactive is key. Explain that you had a momentary blib of a reaction that embarrassed you and you left early. If your boss is anywhere near human, they will understand and offer guidance on what you can do if it ever happens again. Not that you owe your coworkers an explanation, but if you feel you need to address it, you can say something casual like, "sorry for the flip out yesterday, I'm not a great speller and can be embarrassed about it."

This is a learning experience (albeit a terrible one). And if it makes you feel any better, anything I'm good at is because something terrible happened. I'm good at lots of stuff now. 😉

Hang in there!!

I'd be really curious about what is really means and how you manage or cope with it. If I knew you for a while it would be just another thing to file away about your personality. It probably is something you would share with people you are close to, but you may need to educate them on what it means.

That a bon fire was a "bomb" fire and therefore, very loud and very dangerous.

We are getting better at navigating the system! Horrible skill unlocked. 😉

A pediatric neurologist told me definitively that my oldest son did not have autism. After a year of no improvement and assuming he was a particularly hard to diagnose, I got on the wait-list at the local university medical hospital. They were able to diagnose him quickly (apparently he's pretty text book, but the pediatric neurologist didn't ask the right questions). But he had been without supporting therapies and help in school for years as a result of the misdiagnosis.

My other kid (also autistic) had an ear ache. The urgent care doc was unfamiliar with how to deal with an autistic kid and assumed he didn't have an ear infection. The next day his ear drum burst and we ended up at the big children's hospital.

In both cases we had huge delays in appropriate care and had to pay twice.

Was this in SeaTac?

Edit: looks like it was on Dexter.

Lots of the places where be traveled have American restaurants. They are a fascinating look into what people think is American. I love it

The only thing that has generated change is a bunch of airlines that complained after the door plug incident. Dave has got to go.

Side question: When are they going to finally break up the company?

I am newly diagnosed with CD. Wanted to connect with others to see if you have any helpful tips or information for newbies. CD wasn't previously on my radar - getting tested was part of several tests ordered - so I know very little on how to navigate this.

My son (10 yo) has a few very strong interests that he talks about pretty much nonstop. We haven't discouraged any kind of talking because he was quite delayed. However it has come to my attention that his narrow focus on these topics can annoy his peers at school. I don't want him to feel ashamed about his interests, but I also don't want him to be ostracized at school. I'd really appreciate any thoughts this group may have on how to handle (or not) this situation. TIA!
