So it begins again. People have been saying a Switch 2 is coming for over 4 years now. I'm sure it will eventually, but I'm still not sure about the rumors.

It'll only get better from here at least. There are good suggestions floating around that, if implemented, will make Lemmy a lot easier to use as a platform. Having an easier on-boarding experience like Mastodon will go a long way, and people have suggested being able to merge communities by having them mirror each-other which would be great.

But I think people need to let go of the idea that Lemmy should cater to the average person or be bigger than Reddit. The Fediverse isn't a replacement for social media, it's an alternative. We don't need 100 million active users. I'm pretty happy at where we are now, and hope that the community will grow over time to maybe get to one million.

These are pretty good, but I decided not to add kbin communities to the post for now. Kbin still has issues with federation so posts and comments coming from there often end up missing on Lemmy and vice-versa. Hopefully things will get fixed soon enough, and when they do I'll check out all the kbin communities I've been missing out on.

They're from Kbin, there is no save on that website.

The bot definitely posts a ton of links per hour. I don't have it subscribed but I do check in every now and then.

It works for me on the website, I'm not sure if mobile apps play nice with links. If I messed up the formatting hopefully someone that knows more can tell me what's wrong

Same thing here. It seems like the admins might be limiting how many posts you can see every few seconds so the servers don't struggle.

In my experience the Flatpack version causes more issues than it fixes. Try installing it through Nobara's package manager instead (I think Nobara uses dnf?)

I don't use Nobara though so someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm surprised at how positive the consensus is on this movie, it looked pretty meh from the trailers.

[–] simple 3 points 2 years ago

None of them have actually released yet so they're coming to game pass on release. I have my eye on Cocoon, it looks amazing.

I had no idea how far along modding was in this game, and you're telling me people made a fanmade DLC? I know what I'll be playing tomorrow...

Saved you a click: it's Annapurna studios. The games coming are:

  • Cocoon
  • Flock
  • Bounty Star
  • Thirsty Suitors
  • To a T
  • Ghost Bike

Me: oh wow, this shop has everything my heart desires!

Spooky shopkeeper: yes, I will warn you... every item comes with a price.

Me: yes, I know how shops work

Spooky Shopkeeper: The price may be more than you expect to pay.

Me: Yes, I know how US taxes work, too.

Shopkeeper, increasingly exasperated: I'm trying to tell you that I'm evil and offering these wares with no regard for the harm they will do!

Me, also increasingly exasperated: I know what capitalism is too goddammit

Not much different than Sims 4's abundance of DLCs, then.

The Last of Us: Part II and Horizon Forbidden West each cost more than $200 million to develop based on new documents submitted as part of the ongoing Xbox Federal Trade Commission case.

These numbers are shocking. I know AAA games are very expensive but 200 million+ on a single title is very expensive. It's implied these are only development costs, so this excludes marketing costs.
