I won't expect this thing to be working on release day at all because they need to have "something to work on" and source of "listening to our feedback" in succeeding months as they always do. The story is almost always same: they cause issues with such ideas to have an illusion of goals and commitment while things that really do need attention are left alone to rot for over a decade. And are met with the "x who was working on it left company n-time ago" and/or "this will cause serious issue with game code and potentially break something here and there" excuses.
Nobody ask for relics in the first place and it sounds like a feature for sake of something new flashy expansion-worth thing that clearly was copy-pasted from other MMOs.

Doing the usual chores I enjoy most because frankly, I'm not anymore interested or invested in since end of S4. After EoD I don't expect they can provide any good and mature enough content. Say whatever you like but I find EoD being extremely childish and bland with its story line and characters. Not mention the resources hogs like New Kaineng or any EoD strike that loads whole map copy instead of slice of it.
I'm afraid that the changes and new stuff they announced will remain untested until the release day and it will take another 6 or 12 months to bring everything up to the useful stage aka fix things they shouldn't touch in the first place.

From what I've seen around some subs moved and continued its existence, while other didn't become active and in some cases people just snatched names of subs on most active instances expecting probably that people just flock in. Some subs attended the protests and returned to the usual activity but it seems that majority didn't bother. Small number moved to discord or were there already extending community activity.
Fediverse seems to be attractive to people who are both consuming and providing content and who are also engaged in technology to the particular degree. Majority obviously doesn't give a single flying fuck about what happen to reddit by badluckhuffman hands and just waited till blackout will be over.
With this relic thing they baked for SotO, I wouldn't be shocked if in further expansions they'd bring fetch quest in some form
