Hey Folks, I just want to know what your thoughts are about the new spear skills, which Anet streamed on friday.

I have mixed feelings about the skills and desinges they showed. To be fair some classes are getting unique effects and a new type of gameplay but I think some skills seem to be overtuned in terms of competitve gameplay not to mention the graphic effects some skills have. I´m curious what the beta-event might feel like. Maybe the new skills will be balanced or getting balanced later on (most likely after the beta). For me as an Ele-Main I like the skills I got but I can understand the discomfort for people playing their class not getting the skills or playstyles they wanted.

What do you think about the new skills? Do you like their desing and gameplay? And are you satisfied with the skills your mainclass will get?

Seems like too much work to me, so I started getting duplicate pieces just to save the hassle, but a few guildies said I was crazy.

The first time I saw the original trailer for Guild Wars 2, I knew I had to play the game, but I also knew that I had to get the soundtrack as well. One of the best things about the original GW2 is its soundtrack and Jeremy Soule overdid himself, once again.

It wasn't easy getting my hands on the soundtrack though. Back then, all the music composed by Jeremy Soule was sold by DirectSong, which had some uhm issues :D

It took them about 1 year to ship me the soundtrack, but before that I even managed to email Jeremy Soule himself, "complaining" about not getting the soundtrack I ordered. I didn't expect a reply at all, but he actually did reply. He basically just said that DirectSong had issues with producing the soundtracks, but I just had to be patient. Turns out he was right. I just had to be patient 😅

I remember there being accusations of DirectSong being scammers, with people not realizing that Jeremy Soule himself founded Directsong 😂

I thought I'd try GW2 after years of not playing (last I played was PoE era, bounced off fully before Icebrood saga) and finally managed to get into it!

I used to live and breath this game and while I was not what you'd call "hardcore" player, I knew about everything going on. Now I'm totally in the black which is weird. I try not to get it to me, I just play through the Icebrood saga story now and try my best not to open inventory and achievement tabs etc to not get discouraged. GW2 was always a bit convoluted, but with so much added in the meantime, it's much.

How do you deal with this? What would be your recommendations for me to "ease into it"? What should I engage after getting my groove back in the story? How to dip my toes slowly into buildcrafting? What new systems should I check out?

Bonus question: would you expect the xpacs to go on sale anytime soon? Next one should be around the corner by now, no?

Just stumbled across this in my travels.

Obviously this isn't "confirmed" as in "it's definitely coming out and here's a release date", but rather, simply confirmation that time and effort are being spent on it.

We also got confirmation that expansions are planned for the next two years, so even at the earliest, GW3 would likely be a 2027 thing, possibly with the second expansion in the current pipeline serving as a sort of link/segue.

Shifting gears for a moment, though...while there's a lot of room to steer the current story over 2 more expansions, I'm not sure there's much room left in the current lore for much of any real significant game. Maybe GW3 sees a prequel game? Maybe we actually participate in...you know...the Guild Wars?

This update feels a bit smaller than I expected, but it's been fun for me. Don't know how long I'll keep playing before moving to other games again though.

Hello there, GW2 players!

So, lately I've been playing WvW with a friend, and when it comes to a zerg, my computer just stops try to render the game and the FPS drops even reach to 0. I know it's a common problem, but hear me out.

The same friend of mine has a nVidia GTX 1650, an old GPU. I run on a AMD RX 6650 XT. When it comes to WvW, he sais he doesn't suffer from freezes or FPS drop. He also runs on a i5 (don't know the model).

I've been thinking on upgrading my setup, specially the CPU (I have a Ryzen 5 3600), and, as far as I know, GW2 tends to need better single-core performance (even with the engine upgrade). I've been also thinking on selling this GPU and buy a better AMD GPU.

Worth mentioning: I have 16GB of RAM and a SSD, where the game (among other stuff) is installed.

And this is not only on WvW. Sometimes, on Lion's Arch, the FPS drop happens too.

Did someone happen to have the same problems?

I'm curious how long it would take a NEW player to beat the core game? If they had access to the wiki and when needed YouTube but didn't have someone standing next to them telling them what to do. In other words they try the jumping puzzle or what ever they were trying to do a few times and if they failed, then go look it up. How long do you think it would take in hours?

And I mean the main story and all achievements for pve.

Shouldn't have ignored everything the last three months. I had 500 hero's chest to open. Fucking hell even a slog with a mouse script.

The new trailer, roadmap and so much more are here! What are your thoughts about it? The thing that I'm probably most excited about are the changes in post processing. Turning bloom off without touching the other post processing settings is amazing.
