Yes.

Well, at least the ones in government probably are.

Thankfully all those hours I put into Anomalous Coffee Machine will probably confuse people since the title doesn't really give away what it is.

It's porn in case that wasn't obvious.

100% This.

So steam has the little update ribbon for games in your library, and recently one popped up for The Outer Worlds in my feed. I thought it was odd since it's not a new game anymore so I checked it out and it was for some reason just the announcement for Outer Worlds 2. Thought that was odd too since that also happened awhile ago so I went to the discussion thread to see if there was an update to the announcement or something and I got to reading the comments. It was just the most toxic and vile cesspool of comments. Literal mud brained comments like "no woke game, no DEI this time, this game bad because I can't fuck the asexual brown girl and she should be white anyway because that doesn't make sense in outer space" and other vile bigoted shit. Like seriously guys? You hated the game so much that you have to spew your ignorant garbage brained thoughts on an announcement thread for the sequel? Fuck me these people are just the absolute sludge at the bottom of the barrel.

I'm all for protesting a game because the company is evil (you know which ones are) but holy hell people, the vast majority of the comments were not that at all. Just fucking go play something else. There are a hundred thousand other choices for any respective genre of game. Please just all of you fuck off.

The other 6% was a few multiplayer sessions of Warhammer Vermintide with friends which I guess I could have played on the deck but I needed the KBM and bigger screen.

I got the first gen rog ally while it was on a sale because I was curious if I'd like it more than my steam Deck.

Yeah the ally is collecting dust...

I wanted to then give it to my (not technically inclined, plays all games on a switch) partner when steam family library went live so she could play the vast library I have (and I was gonna setup emulators too) but I just couldn't give it to her in good conscience. I've been working in IT for over 20 years and the UX for windows on a small device like the rog ally is such an utter pain in the ass that it basically ruined the experience. I used it as a living room PC for awhile by hooking it up to my TV with a KB/M but that's just defeated the purpose of it's form factor. It's just a desktop PC now.

If using a Windows handheld as a traditional PC is the only comfortable way to use it for someone like me, there's no way I'm giving that experience to someone that is used to console experiences.

Having steam OS on the rog ally (yes I'm well aware of Bazzite already existing and I've played around with it on the Ally, it's just not quite there yet) would be a godsend to make the rog ally a useable device not just for myself, but definitely for the average person that grew up on consoles.

And yeah anything that can be done to get away from windows is better in my opinion. Even if Microsoft turned around tomorrow and made a "great UX for handhelds" it would still be windows. No thanks. I'll keep a PC for the few things that just work better (or at all) on one just in case, but I don't currently play any of the games that have the anti cheat issue on Linux anyway.

It's great for hardware manufacturers, the consumers, and it's great for Valve too. I for one welcome this expansion (finally) of the steam OS platform.

Basically used windows for some multiplayer game sessions with friends and that's about it. Steam Deck for everything else.

Well yeah, when they're just cranking the hog and eating food for the first time, what did they expect?

If this is a joke unfortunately I don't get the reference but I'll have a laugh if you'll explain it.

But otherwise no it's just plain mochi. If it's not very pleasant in texture it's probably low quality mass produced mochi with stabilizers in it for longer shelf life.

I’ve tried to search around the web for this issue, but recently, (sometimes) after I exit a game and get dropped back into the steamdeck UI, I can’t click on some interface elements. If I go to a community tab and click on a post, nothing happens, some UI elements like the search bar don’t register as well (but they make the sound when I try) but worst of all, many of the menu options, specifically the power menu, I can no longer click. So of course, I can’t shutdown or reboot without doing a hard shutdown. Anyone else experiencing this lately? On the latest stable build as of this reply. I’m fine with switching to beta but I don’t want to break DeckyLoader, which tends to happen on the SteamOS beta channel.

Edit: the only workaround i've found so far is to add Konsole to the steamOS as a launchable item, then go into Konsole and type the linux command for rebooting: sudo shutdown -r now
