For me, PlayStore has 0.0.33. F-Droid has 0.0.34 (which I have installed) even with IzzyOnDroid repo added. Droid-ify has 0.0.35, but I can't install it due to signature mismatch with current version. Telling me I need to uninstall the current version first.

Currently on X. Mostly because out of the box Wayland doesn't work with my nVidia card. I know there are solutions available to make it work, but I haven't had the time to try them, and honestly X is working just fine for me. Not sure what benefits I'd see by switching to Wayland.

I deletedy 4 accounts yesterday too. Some were 9+ years old.

1 personal used on a regular basis for nearly 7 years, and 3 that were service / product specific (but not actively used in a bit).

I wonder how a dwindling user base will look to investors.

Always interested in checking out new distro's, and I've heard of Void in the past, but my only concern with these "independent" distro's is their package support and availability.

Finding packages for Debian, or Redhat based distro's is relatively easy due to the sheer number of forked distros and community involvement.

I'll still probably fire it up in a VM to see what it's like.

Shatterline and Caliber

Both free to play, on Steam, and work using Proton.

Hello,

I'm in the early planning / testing phase of preparing to migrate our staff from on-prem DC's & Exchange 2013 to MS365 and Exchange Online.

Looking to have a hybrid AD solution in the end so authentication can occur on premise using our DC's, and when off-net they can use AzureAD. I believe the AzureAD Sync Tool will assist with 2-way synchronization so account records are kept up to date.

We have around 100 staff, that will be migrated, and we'll be setting up a domain alias because our on-prem domain was a ".local" domain.

Has anyone gone through this sort of process before, if so what was your experience like?

Were there any gotcha's or major issues that you came across?

After completing your migration, was there something you wish you knew at the beginning that would have saved you time?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

X11 vs Wayland (lemmy.ml)

I'm a seasoned Linux user, but mostly for servers and services, not really for desktop use.

I've dabbled in some desktop distros on my personal rig a few times in the past, but ultimately due to specific games, I've gone back to Windows.

I recently installed Arch and KDE. Upon initial boot I noticed it was defaulted to Wayland. Every time I would try to log in it would just go to a black screen then cycle back to the login screen. Picking X11 would bring me to the desktop.

Basic Specs:

  • AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3D
  • nVidia RTX 4090

I have been doing some reading into this and it looks like the issue is due to the proprietary nVidia drivers, but there are solutions to work around this.

I know nothing of Wayland other than its supposed to be more secure. My question is, is it worth the time/effort to get Wayland working? I primarily use my system for gaming. X11 seems to be working just fine for me right now.

Forgive me if I'm using some of the terminology wrong, still learning.

EDIT - Selling my gpu is not an option. I knew ahead of time that AMD has superior Linux support, but the 4090's performance can't be matched by anything AMD has. Maybe next upgrade I'll go back to AMD if they have the top performer.

Super excited for this game. Probably won't preorder it still, but will pick it up shortly after launch.

Same. Boost has been my only way of accessing Reddit for years. If Reddit doesn't reverse it's stance on 3rd party apps API access then that'll be the end of me using that platform.

  • Ready or Not
  • Phasmophobia
  • DayZ

Maybe check out a few new to me shooters. Caliber and Shatterline.

To be fair. I've never used Arch and thought I'd give it a try, their new "archinstall" utility makes installation a breeze. This includes driver and DE selection.

Was able to complete a KDE Plasma install in about 15 minutes.

Lots of jittering and buffering before finally timing out.
