I'm late to the game, having tried debian for the first time a few weeks ago.

I'm running the aarch64 version (KDE) in a virtual machine on my Mac (M2) and it's the only distro that, out of the box, hardware acceleration is working for video decode of web videos.

All other distro I've tried struggle to display YouTube videos.

Big thumbs up from me.

I'd love to see taxes like these go towards universal child care.

We need it. Now.

Wish it were as easy to use as Samsung Internet browser dark mode. You can enable/disable with just 2 taps: settings > enable/disable.

I know how you feel. It gets better.

I charge my MacBook pro with a 40W Anker brick overnight. Works like a charm. Probably better for the device longevity too...

Yeah I want an ev but can't buy one until the costs are the same or lower than gas cars. Can't afford anything more

App is great man. Long time fan. Nice to see the Android and iOS versions.

Way to go

How to meet ladies?

I'm using an Android (Pixel) phone, and I installed the PWA via Chrome, as it seems to work the best. Is there a way to change the icon easily?

It was so good! Oh no!

Sourced, not OC

Any post in a lemmy.world community I view from another instance (e.g. programming.dev) shows different content than when viewing from lemmy.world directly. Many comments are missing. There seems to be a massive lag, sometimes more than 1 day. Are instances really that far out of sync? It's hard to contribute from another instance knowing that nobody will see my comments for ~days

Anyone else? Can barely navigate, feels like browsing with a 56k modem. I'm in the US Northeast.

This 4th of July weekend I'm feeling so happy to be a Mass resident. Best place I've ever lived.

What are everyones plans?

Just had a BBQ with close friends. Such a great day for it. Beer, BBQ, firepit. Karaoke. Indoor/outdoor party.

When I view https://lemmy.world/post/801298, I see (what I think to be) the most up-to-date version of that post in the [email protected] community. However, when I view the same post from my account on programming.dev, the thread is way outdated: https://programming.dev/post/292745. What's going on? This is very frustrating. It seems like the edits to the post on lemmy.world didn't propagate to programming.dev instance? It's been a full day.

Absolutely fantastic web app for Lemmy. Really enjoying it. Just wondering if a compact (small "card" style) view is planned?

Is Lemmy dying? (self.asklemmy)

A week ago I was all excited... It looked like we had momentum. I even created a few local communities and the people came. Fast forward to today: my local communities are dead (no posts in many days) and 90% of the posts I see on the All: Hot have zero comments, 9% have 1 comment, and 1% have 2 or more comments. Despite the news of "2M active users and growing".

The only posts that have lots of comments are talking about Lemmy itself or the "Reddit implosion".

It's frustrating
