Moderates:

The problem with Republicans is their blind support of trump, they'll always vote R!

Also moderates, often in the same breath:

The problem with Democrats is they want to hold politicians to a higher standard, instead of blindly voting D!

"Over the past 16 months, the Biden-Harris administration's full, unobstructed support for Israel's campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing has failed to remove the Palestinians of Gaza from their land," Hudhayfah Ahmad, a spokesperson for the Muslim-American led Abandon Harris campaign, said in a statement to Newsweek.

"It is not Trump—just as it was not Biden or Harris—who decides what the Palestinians can or cannot do; that decision belongs solely to the people of Palestine."

I hope what's happening to the Palestinian people never happens to you, but if it does I hope people don't treat you the same when you beg for help for your friends and family who have spent their entire lives under occupation and multiple genocides.

Hopefully someone doesn't have to write a new poem, but it seems like humanity didn't learn the lesson last time:

The irony of it already lining up with general federal procedure has not been lost on anyone btw.

“Insist on doing everything through ‘channels’. Never permit short-cuts to be taken in order to expedite decisions," the guide advises.

Basically, live your life like Biden when he had the numbers to do what Dem voters wanted.

Throw everything to committes and "look into" stuff until there's no time to do anything, if things start moving to fast, start arguing over minute details to divide support, and stick with whatever division erode just enough support to prevent implementation.

Which means the most depressing part about this is the Dem establishment 100% knows exactly how to do all this stuff, they've just decided to only use those methods against progressives and not fascists.

Its not as simple as you'd like it to be.

I really thought everyone would have learned about the electoral college by now, but the important thing is making sure people understand our system moving forward.

Every single nonvoter in Cali could have held their nose and voted D, it wouldn't have changed the result at all

Jerry Falwell and his Moral Majority.

What does Republican primaries almost 50 years ago for county seats have to do with the 2024 Dem presidential primary?

Do you honestly think those are the same?

There's a whole lot to unpack here, so I want to see where we're starting from.

  1. Are you aware parties aren't bound by primaries and can legally run anyone they want in a general?

  2. Are you aware a county clerk seat is different than US president?

  3. Are you aware that things have changed since 1979?

Plan A, B, and C.

Never just have one plan.

Never give up on an option till it's truly ruled out. And never solely focus on a single option at a time.

If Biden had followed that millenia old advice, we'd be in a better position. But just because he didn't, doesn't mean we shouldn't as well.

They're literally at the White House as we speak lol....

The real question is why is OP still supporting a genocide now that it's trump in office and not Biden.

Like, it apparently wasn't about blind loyalty to Biden, they just authentically support genocide.

Looks like outside the White House today...

Why are people still shitting on the people protesting genocide now that Biden isn't in charge?

I thought it was blind loyalty to the letter D, but if that was the case you'd be against genocide now...

Verbiage is confusing, but there's no way 100% are eligible for a buyout.

Even if you combine VSIP and VERA, to fall under "buyout", not every fed is going to be eligible, and definitely not every CIA employee.

But we don't even have a budget, we're still on a CR, there's literally no money allocated for any of this and very few feds are dumb enough to just take Trump's admin at their word.

[–] givesomefucks 22 points 1 day ago

Current scuttlebutt is this has been less than a 1/10th as effective as Clinton's reduction in force, and isn't even beating normal retirement numbers.

If trump had just done buyouts and VERA from the start thru official channels, he might have gotten close to doing as much harm as neoliberals did 30 years ago to the federal workforce

But no one trusts it after how it started.

if what they are doing is not hitting ANY news outlets (even informal ones or their own sites)

That's a hypothetical....
