You don't seriously think that a phrase book is a practical alternative to a native speaker.

The larvae (possibly not quite the right word) eaten by the birds lodge in the intestinal tract near the cloaca. The eggs they produce are passed out, and snails eat the eggs.

Genuinely amazing. The hill is thought to be artificial, too.

I think the Trial Before Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar (1973) was shot at the Herodium, slightly ironically. The web says Beit She'an, but nothing marries up for that scene.

As I understand it, Inuit is still the accepted ethnonym, in both singular and plural. So an Inuk but an Inuit girl, I think.

"Politician" is using a bit of license, but the reference is to Jesus discovering the temple in Jerusalem was being used as a market. John 2 is the only account that includes a whip:

When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said, “Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father’s house into a market!”

Ideally read in a terrible mock-Texan accent:

Tap for spoilerYou're a-peein'!

It doesn't make you a hard man, going to court, you tit. I've been to jail because my ex is a grass. "Google my name" doesn't mean anything, but you're acting like it's a status thing, you muppet hahaha

"Grass" is slang for a snitch/informer. There are a bunch of proposed etymologies, including rhyming slang (grasshopper = copper), but none of them are very convincing.

Ah, this is obviously some strange use of the word ~~"safe"~~ "fact" that I wasn't previously aware of.

It's right in the article, near the top. You don't even need to scroll. They know far more about their language, tactics (presumably including equipment), attitude, and methods of operating than probably anyone in Ukraine.

South Korean personnel in Ukraine would interrogate or provide interpretation services if North Korean soldiers were captured by Ukrainian forces, the report said. They would also provide Kyiv with information about the North's military tactics, doctrine, and operations.

For context, this is from Frankie Boyle's 2016 Hurt Like You've Never Been Loved.

Mango comes from Malay, and the man part means "mango tree" (where the gga means "fruit").

"Mango tree, fruit! Mango tree, stop!" seems kind of biblical.
