Yeah and lemmy still shows upvotes even if you get downvoted. Also it doesn’t automatically hide your comment if you get negative votes which I find annoying on Reddit

Whatever you get, I recommend getting one with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Makes a huge difference in productivity.

I can’t imagine surfing the internet without adblock (ublock on desktop and adguard on iOS)

ASUS RT-AX86U w/ Merlin. Been super stable since day 1.

Used to use a Netgear R7000 AC1900 and it would keep randomly disconnecting due to the poor firmware.

Safari. It's the best for battery life and performance and I think all iOS browsers use Safari's WebKit rendering technology anyway.

Actually Google indefinitely stopped the conversion to manifest v3 which would've blocked ublock so it still works for the time being. But I remember reading that ublock works better with Firefox regardless.

Chrome and Firefox but I really want to switch to just Firefox. I wish Firefox had multi user accounts and tab grouping since I rely on those two features all the time.

def the iPad air. iPad mini's screen size is too small.

I bought the M1 iPad Air for note-taking and college and it's been very good for portability and screen real estate. It's cheaper than the iPad Pro and there's not much of a difference except for the screen size.

Also like others have said, you can't replace a proper laptop with a tablet. I own a MacBook Pro and use the iPad for hand-written note-taking especially for math classes. You'll need a laptop to do your work whether it's Windows or Mac.

I bought the Elgato Cam Link 4k for $80 and it's been working ok so far. While getting an external monitor is more cost effective, I care more about portability since I travel often and so it's well worth it in my case. Also the delay is only a couple of ms so it's perfectly acceptable for office work or just having Discord up or something.

Update: I bought the Elgato Cam Link 4k because I also needed it for recording my old VHS tapes and honestly it's not that bad as you say. I'm able to confirm that I can extend the display and use it as a second monitor with OBS. I just use the "Video Capture Device" setting and set the input to the Cam Link 4k and change the display to 1080p 60hz from Windows Setting.

The delay is only a couple of milliseconds so it's perfectly acceptable for office work. It's well worth it for me for the portability since now I can just take my two laptops and use my personal laptop for other purposes. And I was able to get the adapter for only $80 so it's not that expensive.
