I think you nearly overestimate the appetite of the USA government or people to engage in such a massive conflict over Taiwan. The new administration has made it clear support for Ukraine is on thin ice and a deal can be made with Russia to end the fighting. Why not with China as well?

But you have to factor in deliberate effort already to eliminate the CHIPS act by Congress. I'm sure it will get the axe in the new administration.

The rush had been increased because of the efforts Western governments like the USA have made to prevent China from getting the chips from Taiwan, that encourages the Chinese to develop their own capacity but also eliminated the hit they would take if processor production in Taiwan was crippled by conflict.

The actual ace in the hole protecting Taiwan is the fact that the Chinese want the Taiwanese to join willingly, but if the Chinese economy has continued trouble than Xi will be under pressure to demonstrate strength and that is where they could make a move on Taiwan.

I need to check this out, sounds pretty interesting to me. I never tried Honey because it seemed way too shady!

I feel like this is so boneheaded that it has to be the case where the staff member in charge of this giveaway just wanted to keep the PS5 themselves and thought the kids wouldn't complain about the ol' switcheroo! This just even sounds like something Michael Scott would have done in The Office.

Yeah, the TSA always gives me special attention just because I have cargo shorts on and they told me that almost always triggers anomalies.

I know executives don't tend to go for it but you could always get in a ESU for 3 years past the EoL date. That was semi popular with Windows 7.

Brexit is to the UK like tariffs are to the USA. The bulk of voters in both countries didn't understand what they were voting for or what the implications were.

Given that Gore actually won the election it's arguable that his concessions towards climate change, that it was real for a start, was the reason the election was close enough for him to lose the election. Voters loved the comforting lie over the hard truth then and they still do.

Especially given the yahoo Trump wants to appoint that doesn't believe in climate change even in 2024 is pretty damning of our ability to do anything about it.

This is a great way for him to waste money and time developing games no one wants. A cyber truck version of Diablo 4, what would that even look like.

I get that but the article says they were there to take the child away, that seems serious enough that they wouldn't have just knocked on the door and then just left.

American manufacturing CAN'T, it would take years, decades honestly, to get back the capacity to make all the crap we've outsourced to other countries.
