But even a toddler playing the doctor knows that putting onions in a socks isn't a cure

On Windows 11 it's possible to use backslash for path in the terminal. But then it's windows 11 and their million bugs

If in a prison an inmate was forced to eat 9 pounds of butter and fats a day, it would be considered a crime against humanity

And don't forget the horrible practice of putting everything in ~/ because everyone loves cluttered home directories

I tried the new Microsoft aishell on Windows 11 and the config is saved on ~\.aishell instead of %appdata%\\Microsoft\aishell

WTF Microsoft you forgot that you're on windows?? Can you follow the guidelines that you decided?

I wanted to try them but then I would have to register with Oracle... Yuck

It's the problem with their "always free" virtual machines. Use too much, and they delete it for abuse. Use just a little, and they delete it for inactivity.

Those aren't free because Oracle is benevolent, but simply because probably they had a contract with Ampere to purchase millions of those arm server CPUs and they have vacancy

They're "free" in the hope that they will catch a whale: someone gets used to their infrastructure with a test, then spin more paid virtual machines

If in a specific datacenter, suddenly a whale is asking more resources, the free ones are getting the cut

I think it's from Europe. Car manufacturers in Europe must sell at least n ev every year. Stellantis, that was asleep at the wheel and only has undesirable EVs that don't sell, is paying billions to Tesla to make a fictitious alliance, so they will meet the sales target and won't pay the fine

They 100% bank on people forgetting cancelling

Also, Apple gave iOS a default calculator just a few months ago. When I had an iPad I had to download dozens and dozens of calculators to find one that didnt have ads or subscriptions

Edit: I meant iPad. They sold iPads without the calculator from launch until Q4 2024

Wait, is Facebook ok with that?? This content isn't advertiser friendly! What if a big advertiser discovers that their sponsored content is placed right next to pornhub???

They definitely would be pissed about that!

[–] Wispy2891 41 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Lol Facebook doesn't block links to pornhub?? Who in a sane state of mind would share that kind of content on Facebook??? But then they block pixelfed for "safety" 😉

I hope that AD is pay per view and not pay per click

This is awesome! For only $450 you can get a machine that can automatically swap battery packs placed on bulky $120 phone cases.

You don't need to plug a cable in your phone anymore, your over engineered machine can swap battery packs for you

I never imagined that I would live this long to see the future

For the first time in my life I'm playing Spyro, the original from 1998.

I played around 20 minutes in the starting fields, found the required ten dragons to go on the hot air balloon but then I had some real life problem and I had to turn off. In all the playtime it didn't ask me to save and once a dragon freed said "the game saves a check point every time you free a dragon".

So I restarted the console and... No save...

How to save?

For some reason my iPhone is called "iPhone (2)" and that bothers me to no end. But i can't find the way to rename it, the name can't be clicked and no textbox appears.

This phone was given to me by my employer. Do they have the power to restrict this?
