How about reading the text to the end:

Months after the release of the AirTag, Apple launched the Tracker Detect app for Android phones, where users had to initiate the scan. Google and Apple since have continued working together to make it easier for Android phones to detect unwanted AirTag trackers and for Apple phones to spot Android trackers. Recently, Google rolled out automatic smartphone alerts for unknown Bluetooth trackers, similar to what iPhone owners receive for AirTags.

Sounds extremely fishy. Those robo-dogs are expensive, they are slow - too slow to really act as couriers, and this is supposed to be Moscow - A city in a country under rather strict tech embagos, where you can't get them at the next corner shop.

The demo tape that made some music company to publish "Last Christmas".

I will still use butter for all that popcorn I am going to consume while watching post-reality USA go down the drain.

That pardon smells fishy, but I can understand that he does not want to leave his son exposed to imprisonment under Trump. Donald has shown time and again that he has no problems in going after weak persons to extract petty revenge.

If a new law targets "terrorism" in any way, the actual goal of that law to to oppress someone.

Examples:

  • loads of laws worldwide that expand snooping powers over normal citizens.
  • loads of laws everywhere to curb financing "terrorism" and "crime".
  • loads of laws in many country allowing to detain people without or with greatly reduced due process.

Amazingly, those laws never manage to reduce terrorism in a noticeable way. But although they could be used for these purposes, they somehow also completely fail to engage with corruption, tax evasion and money laundering done by the rich and influential. They still set up anonymous foundations who own their mega-villas and yachts, they still set up companies in tax heavens to avoid paying their dues in their homeland.

Now just imagine how many US dollars are stored away in the vaults of this world just because the US$ is the "default valuta" for many business transactions. Anything dropping off that dollar in a big enough market will make countries to reduce those unproductive heaps of money. This would seriously devalue the dollar if said market is big enough, like oil. That's why the US was not happy about the Euro, and that was the reason why hardliners insisted on war on Saddam Hussein - not because he had anything to do with 9/11, or being a piece of shit of a dictator, but because he dared to threten the US with offering oil for other currencies.

There are estimates that if the oil business would separate itself from the dollar, the dollar could drop to 10% of its current value. To 10%, not by 10%. That would be even worse than the economic massacre Trump is planning by tarriffs and work force deportation.

Him not signing an ethics pledge is probably the most honest move he did in his lifetime.

Because you now did it to yourself.

My problem: I want to create an inventory of my parts. For that I need data I could look up on BL. Sadly, my storage has no internet whatsoever, so I need an offline solution.

I have found the LDRAW library inside the Studio installation, which gives me the parts and their design. They contain the name of the part, too, but only as a comment, and I have yet to verify if this is consistent. I think I could rig a software that renders me the picture as I need it for my application, so that's that.

But there are other files inside the Studio installation, and I wonder if there is a way to find the following information from this:

  • BL Category (Like "Brick" or "Plate Modified")
  • LEGO part numbers and colors that exists for a certain design
  • Parts Weight

I don't need any rapidly changing data like price or availability.

Has anyone here done this, or knows a software that does this?

Sounds easy? Well, it should have been. I'm not talking about a "Hello, World!" (although it is more or less on the same level for me). The goal was to write a set of three MQTT clients that properly talk with each other and interact nicely.

So I had to learn Python and MQTT on the same day. Should not be an issue after 40 years of programming. But it quickly turned out that the Python library/package for MQTT on Ubuntu was heavily outdated (1.6), and did not supply all the functions the documentation and examples (2.0) asked for. Using pip3 didn't work, as it complained that the package structure was maintained by the OS. In the end, I had to virtualize the python3 system and pip3 the 2.0 package there and run it.

After about three hours, I had the clients working as they should. Yes, I think MQTT is a good base for the next project.

I was just wondering. There was or is a mediawiki group on Reddit, but so far I could not find one here.

The new Eldorado Fortress is listed at €214.99. Is it just me, or is this set much to expensive for what it is? When I saw it, I thought "Maybe €150, €170 tops", and was shocked when I heard the real price.

I know (who doesn't?) that LEGO is not cheap, but this is not a Starwars set, it is 100% their own IP.
