This is how you can tell he wanted to make a statement, he went after a Rich. If he was just looking to murder without it being a big deal he could have just killed a few dozen school children.

I think he also wants to get in before the trade war starts. It will negatively impact his campaign if Canadians are actively pissed with trump, and therefore trump's admirers.

The median age of this group was more than 77. The vast majority – around 96% - had a death deemed "reasonably foreseeable", due to severe medical conditions such as cancer.

In the small minority of other cases, patients may not have been terminally ill, but sought an assisted death due to a long and complicated illness that had significantly impacted their quality of life.

Ah yes, "abused" through being used exactly as designed.

Unlike NATO, it is possible to eject members from the EU. Just saying.

What if they denounce Israel and it genocide, or perhaps it's unilateral attacks on their country without declaration of war, or their occupation of Syrian territory? I think we know how things are going to go for Syria.

They're likely trying to damage the infrastructure a new government would need to take full control of the country. They want it to remain unstable so that there can't be a more organized Arab state in the reason. Despite America's support of occupation and genocide, there is a limit to how many Arab countries they can suppress.

Oh good, that should do it. Fucking idiot.

This is genuinely the only reasonable sovereignnty guarantee in the current geopolitical climate. We haven't had a nuclear deterrent since the 80s, time to reaquire it. That's just dreaming though, Canada simply lacks decisive leadership under any part, at least that's the evidence of the last 30 years or so.

Oh my god, they wouldn't consider genocide would they?!

It's worth getting familiar with how tarrifs impact the economy in general. This is a good overview in my opinion.

Genocide ain't cheap, I'm sure Israel appreciates the support.

Wait, the ~14,000 dead children complied with American restrictions? The damaging or destruction of over 80% of all structures in Gaza was within restrictions? Interesting. It's honestly going to be tough for the victims of genocide to tell the difference. It actually may benefit Israel's victims since America is likely to massively lose influence in the world with the clown car pulling into Washington. Many nations who likely want to push back against the genocide are under huge American pressure to stay silent and complicit, hopefully as America loses influence that could change.

Not saying that will occur, just an opinion.

Issue with filtering (self.lemmyconnect)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by Questy to c/[email protected]

I have recently been having an issue where filters are applied, not by me, while I'm browsing in Connect. Entire communities are showing no posts with the message, "Empty because all posts are being filtered". There are no filters turned on in the settings that I can see. Many comments are also hidden due to filters, including my own. I have checked in using the browser interface and everything is normal there.

Is there a setting I am missing, or do I have another issue with the app?

Edit: Issue solved, apparently I had blocked lemmy.world though I'm not sure how.

I am receiving this error when I attempt to install via the manager, but I am able to install via Terminal. That said I am getting an option to install for either System or User, which I haven't previously seen. I'm sure this is probably something pretty basic, but I'm fairly Linux illiterate... beyond knowing I can mess things up by fiddling without knowing what I'm doing.

I am on Nobara 37, Gnome 43.2, Wayland. I'd love a hand with this, thanks!

Edit: Thanks for the detailed answers! Issue resolved.
