Sadly the people I play with don't wanna do their own work in so sharing feels...... Irritating.
It got so bad I abandoned the main "colony" and made my own base. I trade for goods with one guy and my portal stays locked out cuz folks would come to my base, take stuff, attract mobs, and leave.

Funnily enough that'll probably work out ok. I can't verify but it seems the enemies have as hard a time seeing through the mist as you do if you don't have a whisp equipped.
Also don't build a base on the mist.....I had a pretty good one but..... Those goddamn gjall. It doesn't matter how strong,.or how elaborate you defenses when they can just drop legions of ticks on your top floor
