I'm fairly conservative, and I agree, conservatives should be interested in conserving the Earth. It's shame that environmentalism is such a political and polarizing topic.

I guess there could be some super-mod or something who goes around, notifies subscribers of duplicate communities that they need to move because they're going to delete that community.

While it can be great for an end-user, it's a nightmare of tech support. It's just another reason why Linux will never be commonly used on PCs. It also leads to some applications missing critical features because there are three other programs like it, vying for the attention of programmers. For example, there are three applications for making it easier to run Windows applications on Linux - Lutris, PlayonLinux, and Bottles. Personally, I prefer Lutris, but it isn't always great about automatically installing dependencies, though it probably doesn't help that there are like a hundred Linux distributions.

Oh, okay. I asked because $96.66 is equivalent to $65.27 USD. Beyond that, the ~$15 difference could be from inflation. But I guess that's not the case, since you've been in Australia 7 years longer than you've had that cooling pad.

Yeah, I know. That's why I asked. I know there's a big disparity in the value of Australian and American dollars. Though, the same is kinda true of Canadian and American dollars.

Did you recently move from the US to Australia?

I think it would be best to hold off until the Lemmy developers push out an update which solves the issue of having separate communities for the same topic on multiple instances. For example, multi-community feeds or merging instances.

This is true. It’s also why nuclear power plants aren’t a lot more common.

A lot of folks unfortunately think open-source software is much more vulnerable than closed-source software because anyone can inspect it. The great irony of it, as everyone here knows, the opposite is actually often true.

I’d like to run my fingers through that garden!

It doesn’t exactly help that there’s like 5-10 of each kind of thing.
