The thing is I spent a LOT of time in voice chats playing games as a kid. It always worked well then. It hasn't changed at all. I don't need to be on a video call. I jump into a voice chat channel and hang out. People come and go, and are quiet for the most part.

Having come from an office environment where everyone worked in cubes, it truly is no different. I don't need to be face to face with coworkers, because I wasn't face to face for most of the conversations we had in the office. We'd stare at our screens and talk over the walls.

When we were looking at each other's faces, it was in the conference room. Those formal meetings are effectively replaced with video calls - and more often are effectively replaced with emails like they should be.

This probably largely depends on your field. But for me, my productivity is higher working from home, because at least at home I can choose when to tune out the noise. In the office, management was personally offended by me listening to music while working alone. I was told to focus on my paycheck if I needed help focusing.

Nah I'm in the US. Garbage internet provider. No issues.

I'm always reminded of this when I see arbitrarily low caps on password character lengths.

Recently signed up on a site that limited passwords to 11 characters. Why? Like, seriously, why?

My company is complete work from home. The issue is that people can't imagine coworkers talking to each other and being friends while working remotely.

I spend half of most days in spontaneous voice chats with coworkers where we have these exact same moments. Spontaneous discussions leading to ideas that change the way we do things.

It's not exclusive to being in an office. You just need to adapt to a new work style.

Used to work at a supplement company. Customer emailed us complaining his container of pre-workout was not filled to the correct weight. The package said 1.5lbs. But his scale "clearly" showed 1.10lbs

Emailed him to let him know his scale was showing 1 pound 10 ounces. The extra 2 ounces were likely the weight of the container.

I help companies sell products on Amazon.

One sold protein powder. Product title says "25g of protein". First bullet point says "25g of protein per serving". Main image of the product clearly shows "25g protein" on the label. Second image makes it more clear with "25 Grams of Protein Per Serving" in big bold letters. The A+ content (images in product description) repeat this information in big bold letters as well. Both the image gallery and the A+ content showed a picture of the supplement facts panel. The top rated review for the product called out that they liked the 25g of protein per serving.

Customer messages me, "How much protein per serving? Doesn't say anywhere on the listing."

Rage. Instant, immediate, and intense rage.

Get your thyroid checked out. Turns out major depressive disorder can be brought on by hypothyroidism. Who knew?

I'm in the US. I remember being told it was a thing on Verizon. But I've used my mobile hotspot many times and never had an issue.

Why do you block instances? Sorry, new here

I used to fly a lot. I'm at the point where I board the plane, sit, close my eyes, and wake up when we start pulling into the gate at our destination.

I don't use a neck pillow or anything. Usually just grab a water bottle before boarding, because my mouth gets crazy dry.

As one of the people who came to Lemmy because of Sync, I'd say very dedicated fans. It was hands down the absolute best Reddit app on Android. Still feeling salty about what reddit did, so I followed Sync here.
