I wish I could like this thrice

I get it but at the end of the day it's people's choice, the other instances have to do more to make theirs attractive (At the end of the day it's still better to have them here than not have them here on lemmy, That is my thinking*)

Even then I rather have them here than Reddit, let's get them on Lemmy & then we'll deal with fallout

We can work on migration features after we get critical mass (I want Lemmy to grow & Reddit to perish/diminish, that's all)

What do you guys think of Pleroma/Akkoma ?

Heh Heh, Oh wait you are being serious huh

So you DON'T want Lemmy to be as popular/big as reddit ??

[–] MITM0 2 points 7 hours ago

I would like to know that too

I said "big enough" & no one's stopping them from migrating to Other instances

For the first time ever, the RTS-genre gets a chance at being in the spotlight So tell us games are you going to play or are looking forward to ???

XMPP-Bridging (self.xmpp)

So is it possible to bridge to different platforms via XMPP (similar to what Matrix does) ??

  1. If yes then how does one bridge
  2. If kinda yes & no then what are the workarounds
  3. If absolutely no then should we develop a bridging capability

Okay, so this is probably a stupid question, I use Pop!_OS & the current emacs version is Emacs-27 So, If I had to install the latest one (Emacs-29.1 or even Emacs-30.0.93) what does one have to do, compile it manually ?

Or is there another way ?

Do we need a standalone Libre/OpenSource Game-Store/Hub ??? (similar to Athenaeum)

where we simply aggregate all the FOSS games in one place along with their mods & links to their assets (Plus methods to fund those libre-gamedevs)

Has anyone here configured Emacs for:

  • Shell-scripting
  • Markdown
  • HTML+CSS
  • Rust

Don't know where to start (I do know the bare-min basics on using Emacs as a text-editor)

I would like to introduce you lovely OpenSource Lovers to a GIT-Alternative called FOSSIL that I also stumbled upon because of this Blog. It's basically opensource Github-in-a-box which means it's an SCM with:

  • Bug-tracker
  • Ticketting-system
  • Forum
  • Wiki-system
  • even a Chat-functionality
  • Has built-in GUI
  • Also has a Web-Server
  • Self-Hostable like Gitea/Forgejo

& the best part it's all in ONE STANDALONE FILE!!! which is extremely lightweight which you can copy to your $PATH & works even in crappy internet. how cool is that!!

However this tool supports a completely different style of development in FOSS called the "Cathedral-Style" whereas GIT suports a "Bazaar-Style" The person behind Fossil is the creator of SQLite, Dr.Richard Hipp & they even made other projects to support Fossil like a PIC-Like language called PikChr Well just in case; here's a list of difference between Git vs Fossil & guess what!! they even have a hosting service called CHISEL

Listen; Just check it out & use it for fun in your spare time even with the flaws it has (& Try out Darcs & Pijul as well)

I accidentaly stumbled upon this newish browser (even has IPFS support) called LibreWeb Any thoughts ?
