I thought that I'd die of cancer because that's my zodiac sign and nobody could convince me otherwise.

I wasn't talking about tetanus, flu, or COVID lol. I know those have to be redone. Hopefully they don't get banned, because the flu and COVID could kill me. Tetanus sounds awful, too.

Worked in insurance for a few months and saw someone with an $8000 deductible.

Was denied life-changing, medically necessary weight loss surgery because my company has less than 50 people employed.

I had to live with a failed gallbladder for a month and a half while the insurance decided if they were gonna pay for surgery. I lost 20lbs in that time because I couldn't keep anything in my body. I almost died.

One health care facility near me doesn't accept patients who work at or have previously worked at their competition.

Had my ankle reconstructed last year and the surgery alone billed for $16,000. A piece of foam for my walking boot billed for $150.

My headache medicine would cost me around $1000/month if I didn't have insurance. With insurance it's $40/month. My pharmacist helped me sign up for a discount card through the manufacturer so now it's only $5/month somehow

Got some medical bills sent to collections before the bills ever reached me. By email or paper mail. Haven't paid any of them and I don't plan on ever paying them because fuck the people who just sent that shit to collections. Also medical debt is dumb and you just don't have to pay that shit. They eventually stop bugging you about it and I haven't seen it reflect on my credit score ever.

A 20 min ambulance ride, with amazing insurance was billed for $575.

My sister almost broke her spinal cord and the insurance gave us the runaround after the corrective vertebrae surgery.

The VA didn't want to cover the cost of my grandfather's leg amputations that were a direct result of contact with agent orange in Vietnam.

The VA doesn't want to cover a coworker's therapy and medication for PTSD caused by being stationed in the middle east for 4 years.

The VA won't release my mom's army medical records because she was part of experimental vaccines when she was in the army. She thinks it was anthrax vaccines, but can't be sure because nobody will tell her.

My beagle hates it when I do laundry or if my goldendoodle gets perfume at the groomer. Everything MUST be stinky according to the beagle. He does his best to make everything have his hound smell by rubbing all over everything and everyone. I'd be mad if he wasn't so damn cute when he does it. He makes dumb little noises and gives me side eye as he wiggles around like a doofus

I had an incredibly aggressiveale duck that would come after me all the time. He was big, like 20lbs at least, and I'd kick him in the chest with the side ofy foot when he came at me all angry like. His chest was the meatiest part of him, so I wasn't worried about damaging him with kinda wimpy kicks. Bastard became soup real quickly, though. Overly aggressive birds in my flock don't get the privilege of being pets.

Polio vaccines protect you for life, right? As do other the other current standard childhood vaccines? I'm on an immunosuppressant for my autoimmune disease and illnesses like polio and the like terrify me.

I meant a government watch list lol. And I don't plan on donating until an official one is announced.

Think I'll be put on a list of I donate?

Can I talk to a CEO with a Luigi board

I donate to my local food bank. I worked in their hydroponics garden a few years ago and saw how much work goes into providing food for the needy. They need all the help they can get.

I also donate time and energy and a bit of money on a specific horse at the stables I volunteer at. She's an old mare with an owner who doesn't give a shit about her. Nobody really does anything with her other than me and another person, and that other person only lets her out to graze. I exercise the horse, groom her, give her lots of attention, and I got her a winter blanket recently.

It was free, too. Neighbor was getting rid of it and let me have it.

She's the best lol

I've been chronically ill my whole life. My job was very accommodating while I searched for actual answers. This is the first job I've had where I can actually take time to care for myself without getting in trouble.

Anyway, I finally got an answer to what my illness is after desperately searching for 20 years. I have lupus, specifically SLE. I always suspected it, but rheumatologists never took me seriously until now. I have to make a 2 hour trip, one way, to see my doctor, but it's worth it.

I sat down with my boss after getting my diagnosis and discussed how the disease could potentially impact my life and working ability. I discussed every important aspect of it so my boss and I are on the same page. He was so supportive and kind and I cried because it is so amazing to be supported like that in the workplace.

I truly hope the rest of you can find/have an employer like mine.

She was upset with me at first because she just wanted to graze. Then she got into it when she started trotting around lol

She doesn't like me very much

I got a diagnosis today after trying to figure out what's wrong with me for twenty years. My grandmother died at a relatively young age of lupus complications and she had to end her whole career at 36 because she was so sick. I'm 27, and I am terrified I'm going to end up like her. Her quality of life was absolutely awful for the entire time I knew her. I don't want that for myself.

My friend and I want to play modded Minecraft together. We used to use Hamachi when we both had windows machines. Now Hamachi just isn't working. We can connect and communicate on the LAN we made, but I can't connect to the direct connection. There aren't any error messages that help. It just says it couldn't connect. I have a steamdeck and my friend has a Windows desktop. I've done research about it and I am thoroughly lost on what to do. We want to try to do this for free or hella cheap.

Has anyone here encountered this issue and found a workaround or anything?

She isn't even close to be fully broken and I knew the risks going into it lol. I got back on after she threw me and we finished the session on a good note. Getting more protective gear to prevent injuries like the ones I'm currently dealing with, since I expect to be thrown again during the training process.

Got thrown out of the saddle by a horse today and got mildly fucked up. I want to invest in more protective gear than just a helmet but there's so many options. I want elbow pads and wrist guards definitely because of the bad scrapes and sprains I got. And maybe some kind of vest to protect me from any gut punches the horn of the saddle will give me if the horse tries to throw me again. My stomach has some nice big bruises from the horn.

He's always trying to see my phone. Gives off "you got any games on your phone?" energy. He splashes me when I give him water and tries to steal the end of the hose. He also demands pets as soon as I enter the barn.
