I have to agree with this. I'm more inclined to learn how to do something myself before calling a service person. I don't trust people to do shit right. And if I find it's above my pay grade, then maybe I'll have learned enough in looking into it to know whether or not I'm getting screwed over.

Please teach me this zen, because holy hell toddler tantrums are the worst! They've made dealing with morons at work much easier.
I think arriving to the ability to not let this trigger you requires a lot of little decisions and changes. Like accepting that people will fail or suck at their job, being able to roll with shit, having alternate/backup plans.... Like if the cable guy was coming today, then I'd have shit planned to do around the house and I wouldn't plan anything else that day. I'd game, clean, do chores, do outside projects, change the car oil, whatever needs to be done nearby that I can take a break from when they finally show up. Small businesses I'd probably call in the morning and verify they're showing up for sure that day.
I guess it's a combination of assuming the worst case scenario and focusing on what you can control. ("Plan fo the worst, hope for the best") So in the case of the shitty co worker, I'd ask them to tone it down. If they won't, then what can I do? Can I move elsewhere? If I can't I might ask the supervisor if they can get my desk moved. Of course they are going to do the easier job of telling Jack wagon to stfu but now it's coming from the supervisor. I can control the coworker, but I can control myself, I can try to manipulate the situation. There might be other options depending on the situation like putting in earbuds and refraining from clubbing them like a baby seal.
But yeah, I agree. I think a person yells when they think they have no power over the situation. I grew up being yelled at all the time it's very easy for me to fall into that trap too and I understand how hard it is to not resort to that when I'm frustrated or overwhelmed. It gets 100x worse when I'm tired.
Be happy to give and don't expect anything in return.
You can usually shut off the rgb lighting all together.
Wishful thinking would be if the killer struck again while Luigi was in jail.
Find things that make you happy. Enjoy being happy. Having someone in your life is great, but you need to learn to be happy just being by yourself too. Learn to go do things alone. Enjoy life as it is. Having a partner isn't the core of life.
Additionally, By being happy you'll probably be more attractive. Nobody wants to be around someone miserable.
Working fast food jobs versus working a professional job. There's a reason people work in fast food whether that be age, felony status, crap work history, education status (not always), or they are just shitty people.
There is a general unprofessional and childish mentality working at those places that I thought was normal when I worked them. When I moved into corporate culture it was difficult for me for like 3-4 years and it took a long time for me to understand that it's a different culture. You don't say off color shit or fuck around. Which I am okay with. I don't have to deal with casual sexual harassment, childish quitting displays, abuse, high school behavior, etc.
There is still some gossip but it's not hard to isolate yourself from it and people who do that shit typically don't last that long.
I used to has Xmas after becoming an adult because what it stood for, for me, was a bunch of shit : capitalism, using a fake demi god to discipline your kids, and a zombie demi god it's supposed to be dedicated to when we decorate trees which come from the religions that were stomped into hiding.
But I started to realize that winter fucking sucks. It's depressing as fuck. It made me realize that we need holidays in the winter to help us get through it. There is joy in company if you can look past minor shit and flaws of family, and if you can't then there is the company of friends. Holidays are a reminder that we thrive best in communities and it's a chance to reconnect.
So whether you decide to celebrate that gathering by decorating a plastic tree or by having a hedonistic feast or even an orgy, do something for the holidays that mean something to you.
One problem I've been having with ebay lately is that I've ordered items and they're coming drop shipped from Amazon or Walmart.
They're always sellers with ratings in the upper 90s and with like 1000ish or less reviews. A lot of times they list is as only having 1 or 2 left in stock. I've been having some luck going into the reviews and seeing people say "came in an Amazon box" to avoid them.
It's one thing to wholesale stuff and resell it, it's another to just drop ship it from Amazon and Walmart. Been ordering on ebay for many years and I've never seen this before.

I guess if he puts out (as in he pays the bills) it's worth it. Just keep your mental health in check and know this shit isn't normal. If he wants to start charging rent or some bs then remind him you earn your keep by pampering his ass. Good luck to you!
