I just picked up the civ5 bundle for 90% off about a month ago. It is a 13 year old game, but it's still a great game.

If the knowledge was only dad's preferences in women, sure, mostly harmless. The damaging part of this would be the villianification sexual desire. You're telling someone that a normal part of having a body is wrong and you should feel shame for it. You're also thrusting the responsibility for the parent's impulses onto a minor.

I'm also not naive enough to believe that they had any serious, healthy discussions about sexual urges beforehand. This is the right, its just indoctrinating them onto the shame and guilt spiral as soon as possible.

Can we get a link to that, I'd love to see it

And two weeks ago, you would have called the 71 year old man in this story an "average republican". You would have told his tenants to be patient with him and try to understand his fears, not lump him in with "the outliers".

And that's the problem with your viewpoint, everyone on the other side is "average" until they aren't, and then its too late. Quick making it comfortable for them to be average-ly bigoted and hateful. Quit putting the work on the left, when we aren't the ones oppressing and killing people. Start blaming the right for what they support and work towards.

And since you clearly have nothing to say that's worth listening to, I'm just going to go ahead and block you.

Then go talk to them, quit demanding that the left to be more patient and forgiving to people who actually want to kill them.

You may not identify as a centrist, but you're pushing their views. If your don't want to be one, it sounds like it's time for some self reflection.

I don't see them as "others" because they have different beliefs. I see them as "others" because they have willingly allowed propaganda to radicalized them into believing we don't deserve the same rights as as them, which gives them an excuse to see us as less than human. When they don't believe we deserve rights and are less than human, this happens.

Stop putting the blame on the people defending themselves and their rights and place it on the aggressors. But clearly the enlighted centrist knows better...

No, you fucking haven't. No one on the left has been saying this about any of this shit. We've been warning people that this is what they were building to.

If this is what was said "in your circles", then your circles are filled with republicans, and you've been stupid enough to believe them.

And this is not a collection of shit. It is one show. Judging by your comment history though you're fucking insufferable. Take a block and go be miserable elsewhere no one cares about your whiny ass opinions.

[–] Huxleywaswrite -1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Franchise was the word you're misusing, dumbass. I don't even care about the show. It could be literally be a reboot of anything, but it's not a fucking franchise. Words have meanings.

[–] Huxleywaswrite 1 points 1 year ago

I'm not debating you on shit, I'm saying you have a shit grasp on current events if you believe your comment to be true.

[–] Huxleywaswrite 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

No, you're preaching to the choir like we didn't already fucking know it. No shit the right wants to take Trans rights away, literally no one is surprised by that.

You're original comment makes no sense in any context.

[–] Huxleywaswrite 11 points 1 year ago (4 children)

I don't think anyone understands the context you're trying to present that in. There are virtually no Trans people or allies that believed the republicans wouldn't come for them. Its very much the opposite, just as it was for roe v wade. The left called out what they were doing years in advance and the right kept lying and saying "you're crazy, we'd never do that". When anyone with any intelligence knew they obviously would, and they have.

There weren't really Trans people on the republican side saying what you claim, because there isnt anyone on that side advocating for trans people. The two groups are pretty much mutually exclusive. Or you're trying to criticize the left, but no one on the left believed that republicans would hesitate to take rights from Trans people.

The guy you argued with below was agreeing with you that republicans suck and you kept arguing with him. So what the fuck are you trying to say?

Is there anyway we could get a border on the thumbnail for videos in compact viewing? It's got the little globe icon in the lower right corner, but that only shows up on light colored thumbnails. An option to change the color of it would work just as well. I just keep opening YouTube videos that I think are images and then the video shrinks when you hit back instead of closing, while I panic and try to find the little x that actually closes it

So this is probably just me being old and stuck in muscle memory, but maybe it's worth fixing at some point. I use the compact view, so when a picture catches my interest I click it to blow it up. With the image enlarged to cover my screen, and anything not covered by the image filtered to be dark, pressing the back button doesn't close the image, it immediately exits the feed and keeps the image open. I know I can scroll the picture away, but pressing back is just the first thing my mind does, and then I lose my place and have to go back into the feed and scroll down trying to find my spot. Not a huge problem in the grand scheme of things and my hands will learn the new defaults, but closing the pictures first seems like an easy fix.
