Thank you, that’s very clear. I appreciate it!

Thank you, this sounds promising.

I haven’t used an authenticator so this might be a basic question, but: when you say to share the code, do you mean each time we need to authenticate? Most of us keep our phones on silent so we mightn’t be good candidates for that.

Thank for the helpful reply. I don’t have the email option but as a last resort I could explore Google Voice options in the EU.

The options they provide are SMS or Authenticator App. Does the latter count?

I don’t tell anyone I use this site in case they come across that stuff first. I just say I use a site “similar to Reddit”. I’m surprised that they don’t ask me the name but most of my friends don’t spend so much time online.

Oh, that’s fantastic. Thank you!

It’s a pity about the name. Cultural appropriation of native Americans is an ongoing problem and this is just tone deaf.

It depends how you define diversity. The overwhelming majority of content is for the white, Anglicised gaze. You could argue that there is diversity within that group but it is still narrow enough that the content posted is pretty repetitive.

IQ and Africa: a favourite combination for white supremacists.

I thought I was in my messaging app when I read the first sentences and was confused. I thought I was included in the “our evenings” 😆

That sounds lovely and relatable. I let my affection show in glances etc too or a brief hand on the shoulder. Whatever feels authentic at the time.

Yes. Non-verbal communication and silence work too.

I'm used to seeing articles about AI being used for either highly scientific uses or for generating semi-entertaining nonsense. For a personal business involving managing appointments, documenting meetings, tracking payments etc, can AI help with any of that? Other things include undertaking CPD training, occasional advertising as well as maintaining a website from time-to-time.

The people I know who don't think AI has any use for them belong in this category and work in the area of mental health, yoga teaching / training, nursing and massage therapy.

There’s a paragraph on a page that I need to remove temporarily. It would be easier to just collect it out like I would in HTML. Then I can restore it quickly when it’s needed again. Is it not possible?

I’m open to both online services as well as self hosting. But I’d like it to be low-maintenance.

I started doing this for a few hours before lunch to extend my battery life, but found that it actually improved my attention and productivity. I also made better choices from my less distracted state, in particular deciding I could skip an unhealthy snack etc.

As per your guidelines here https://lemmy.world/post/4505404 I'd like to request to care for this sub.

Some interesting trends here that I wasn't aware of. Eg: "Alcohol consumption in Ireland is now less than the United Kingdom and most other European countries, including Spain, France, and Germany."

After years of not bothering with alcohol I tried some of the alcohol-free versions of those drinks and the difference was negligible but the next morning was a lot more pleasant.

The original article title is "Off-license consumption fuelling rise in non-alcoholic drinks as demand for 0.0% alternative sees post-pandemic surge", but I took an interesting quote from the article for the title of this post.

I was walking along and suddenly my character starts coughing violently. Vision starts to fade and she collapses to the ground, dead. There's no text to tell me what happened.

I'm at Lorenz SysTech Spire now but it happened earlier in the game too.

Edit: I figured it out. There's gas coming from the doorway I was beside. The previous time I'm not sure what happened. Maybe my energy just got too low. I thought the health bar was a battery bar for the torch :)

I created a banner image for a webpage and by specifying a width of 100% and a max-width of 1024px I got an image that scales down on small devices but also doesn't get to big on large displays. Perfect.

I decided that I'd like it to be a slideshow so I've been testing this pure CSS implementation https://codepen.io/gradar/pen/BaavLLo

The problem is that on smaller devices, the images are too big. So I tried applying the same CSS I did for my static image but it didn't work. I assume that this is due to the CSS animation specifying funky margins. Is it possible to get the same behaviour that my banner does on the codepen example?

PS: My page with the working banner image is here in case it makes it clearer https://optimumhealth.ie/yoga-festival/
