I used to work for an insurance company (life, not health), and when business was sluggish my duties included tidying and auditing very, very old policies. 99% of policies from the 1930s-50s were for men, and the few women's policies all had LETTERS FROM THEIR HUSBANDS AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE.

Right on, dude. It would be refreshing to see right-wing arguments advocating a serious fact-based (instead of hate-based and/or lie-based) position on any issue. I'd still disagree, but I'd welcome that disagreement.

Left-wing media is comprised of several pretty good websites, a few magazines, some blogs, podcasts, and half a cable channel. It's nothing compared to right-wing media, which is everywhere.
By golly yes, Democrats should build a better megaphone to get the message out, but it would also be helpful if Dems had a message worth hearing.

When we were uninsured more than twenty years ago, my wife went to an emergency room with horrendous internal pain, waited three hours to see a doctor who prescribed extra-strength Pepto-Bismol and missed what we later learned was the obvious diagnosis of gallstones. The bill was a bit more than three grand.
