Amongst other things, I always carry some zip ties. They weigh nothing, yet come in handy in so many ways.

I would say, the "Swiss fire" (where does that name come from?) will likely last longer and need less maintenance than the box fire, but I'have only ever built this type of fire out in the woods, not in a stove.

That is a nice table. However; $17,000 sounds like a lot for that little table.

Solange der Inhaltsstoff korrekt auf der Verpackung deklariert ist, gibt es dagegen ja nichts einzuwenden.

Yes, I tried to "wget -S" some of that stuff in the Linux console. Yikes!

Yes, personally I use DDG more than Google, but we are in our 70ies, so it would be hard to convince the wife (who has been a dev 40 years ago) to change her habits. I am already looking into SearXNG, though.

Not sure, how long Google is at it, it may just be new to me, but today the wife googled for something, and she couldn't get there as the response was "can not connect". "Fix the internet NOW!", was my order.

Analysing the link on Google's page, it displayed the link as https://www.example.com, but it actually goes to https://googleadservices.com?blabla, which is blocked by our DNS, therefore the error.

Displaying one link, but going to another is misleading, lying, tactics of phishers and scammers, IMO.

Is this new, or is it just me, who never clicks on the first result of a Google search?

The style of this cabinet is not my cup of tea. However, I'd never have the skills to do this, methinx.

I changed the user-agent of my browser to "Error: No browser installed". Can't be more unique than that, I guess. That was 30 years ago, though, I don't think it will hurt me today 😆

Very helpful command it was for those, whose modem had to be rebooted daily back in the day: Have a cron-job open the tray, which in turn was placed strategically so that it would hit the reset button of the modem, then close the tray. And voilà; automatic reboot of the modem. Robotics at its finest!

Quelle était la langue des néandertaliens. Comment ont-ils communiqué.

Apart from fzf that helps me find recently used commands and also files and directories easily, I also use tldr that gives you a simple cheat sheet for every command and very often saves you trawling through endless man pages.

That was my first thought as well.

Wow, what a difference from his previous video, where he was so chuffed about the R16 he bought.

That's a lot of work for a little handle. It pays off, though.

The simplest things are often the best. You'll still need a strop, though.

If insanity has a name, this must be it 😀

I had the same issue here. Maybe this helps you as a workaround?

I found a something similar issue here https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui/issues/2666

And that sees to be it. I could set the lemmy.world cookie to "lax" using a cookie manager extension. Now it seems to work, both with F5 and when I leave Firefox.

Thanks for the idea. All my browsers are Deb packages, no Snap/Flatpack/AppImage. I am still on Ubuntu for now, but I try to stay away from Snaps wherever I can due to slightly less-than-stellar experiences.
