My phone charger is on my desk across the room to keep me from doing this, sometimes it works.

So it turns out they can't pull from hoppers, the hoppers have to be facing into the pot so it doesn't really work. The hopper above the pot just fills up with items. If the pot could pull items from sidways facing hoppers it would work. But so far hoppers are the only thing that can pull from other storage containers.

Yes, the game did slow down after the acquisition. And it does seem like recently they've been focusing on adding new building blocks instead of game mechanics. I'd say from my perspective that some mods are a little too feature rich? IDK I just kind of like Minecrafts minimalist style. There's no quest, there's no unlocking regions after fighting a boss. You make your own quest and go wherever you want. Maybe its because I'm a relatively new player (3 years). The game still feels kind of new to me.

I understand that many of the features added seem unoriginal when they've been in the modding scene for years but I think thats just a product of how long Minecraft has been around. Not to mention a product of its popularity. People see the infinite possibilities and it gets their gears turning. Would you rather those features not be in the base game?

I do sympathize with the notion that Minecraft has gone in a different direction from what many of its oldest and most dedicated fans would have liked. And thats fine, there's modded for that.

I guess what I'm saying is as someone who didn't grow up with the game I can't really get behind the "Minecraft was better before Microsoft". But I don't think that makes their point wrong, I just don't think it matters as much to me. Call me a sheep, call me a Mojang Apologist, I'm fine with that. I'm sure in 10 years I'll be in the same boat as you, if the game lasts that long.

Well said, I hope people don't take my meme to harshly. I just feel like sometimes the criticism is a little overwhelming especially when we get close to Minecraft Live. I certainly have my own criticisms with the game, but I'd never throw hate towards developers because they were focusing on something different. I am in no way attempting to silence other people. I'm saying that just because others criticize the game doesn't mean I have to.

I have a survival world that my younger siblings occasionally join on. I mostly focus on building but do have the occasional small redstone project. I think the main thing that's helped me is accepting that I don't have the time or the discipline do do the things I see other people do online. It might help that I've only been playing for 3 years so there are still a lot of things in the game I haven't done. My inspiration with the game is also driven by the content I consume, mostly Hermitcraft. The important thing is to find the thing you enjoy most. I personally enjoy worldbuilding and making every build with a purpose and story. If you don't have anyone IRL to play with then joining a whitelist server could be something to try. Or maybe a public server with lots of minigames.

Considering that they can only hold a stack of a single item they could maybe be used for sorting?

Yes, Mumbo, Grian, Iskall, Xisuma, Zedaph, and occasionally some of the other hermits but those are my regulars.

They can't exactly put any more on the pile until they finish up what they promised in the first place.

Very Cool, and since you can only see what's right below you I wouldn't call it game breaking. You can see more with the 3rd Person Quake Pro trick on Java.

This is something I always try to keep in mind. For example, the rascal had a chance of offering you an enchanted iron pickaxe, but since it didn't win they gave that functionality to the wandering trader.
