As and when announced, it would have been one of the cheapest EVs. I’m not interested in a truck, but that announced price and done of the technology they promised, were very tempting. However now we see how preorders based on just an announcement are risky

I’ve been wondering about thermal storage for heat pumps but we don’t have time of use metering yet. I see a few options online but contractors aren’t familiar and it’s not even clear whether they are really available

My parents house when I was a kid had resistive heat, but they added thermal storage when our utility started doing time of use and it made a huge difference in the bills. However I don’t know the overall payback period

Minor win on my son’s room at his Mom’s house this past weekend

  • added a hangar bar to his closet
  • wall-mounted a tv
  • added some cool LEDs

Great! This isn’t really about ai, but police misrepresenting evidence to obtain a search warrant. If the warrant is invalid, you can’t count evidence obtained with it.

Ideally any officer intentionally misrepresenting the facts faces professional repercussions, but that’s another issue

Realistically, how can you control the spread? Even assuming there are treatments, in what world is it practical to provide repeated direct medical attention to millions of chickens?

Yet there are nutritional and behavioral actions that significantly affect blood cholesterol level and proportions.

Eggs are a great example, my understanding:

  • eggs have a lot of cholesterol
  • cholesterol is mostly broken down when you eat eggs - however is also a significant source of saturated fat
  • liver “balances” blood cholesterol by making it and digesting it
  • saturated fats, such as from eggs, increase liver production of cholesterol

Other things aren’t “breakfast”. While I understand that it’s only tradition that makes foods be for a specific meal, it’s hard to get around. Chicken is not a breakfast food.

So where do you get protein in foods that identify as breakfast? Cereals and grains are mostly carb or fiber, not good sources of protein. Sausages and bacons are not lean and are not healthy foods. then there are eggs, and there are many ways to prepare eggs

The same people who don’t use the metric system for a dozen eggs

It’s back to only thinking about yourself. Most people aren’t currently diagnosed with lead poisoning, so it doesn’t concern them. Why spend all that money.

Intentionally deciding to enforce normal human rights is different than suddenly causing disruption in the food supply and greatly increasing food prices.

Personally I think there was a lot we could have done with migrant worker visas to improve human rights while also ensuring enough farm labor, preventing disruption of the food supply, and providing a wider legal path to immigration

Not every place has a problem with avian flu - culling entire flocks are meant to prevent that from happening

US refrigerators have an “egg shelf”. You have to buy eggs by the dozen because that’s what refrigerators are designed for. Who can afford leaving a useless shelf empty - we already have that problem with the butter shelf
