October 2023 Star Trek ebook deals (www.simonandschuster.com)
submitted 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Here’s the Simon & Schuster listing of ebook deals for this month. $0.99 in the United States.

There’s a heavy focus on TOS Spock focused books, with several classics featured by Diane Diane, AC Crispin and others. There’s also Una McCormack’s excellent Star Trek Picard prequel novel ‘The Last Best Hope.’

Pricing expires on October 29th in the United States.

Other countries - deals are available but not necessarily all the same books. And there may be others on low feature prices!

How to figure out what deals are available where?

Option 1: for UK, Canada, Australia and India, there are links at the bottom of the page that take you to the Simon & Schuster country sites.

  1. Go to your country

  2. Search for “Star Trek” in the search field

  3. Filter by lowest price to highest.

Pro. If you’re on the Simon & Schuster page you’ll be offered a free ebook.

Con. There are sometimes more books available at the lowest prices through Amazon Kindle and Kobo. And in some cases the full US ebook special list is in effect on other countries’ Amazon, but not on the publisher’s own site.

Option 2: go to a major ebook seller for your country

  1. Search for “Star Trek” in books

  2. Filter by ebooks

  3. Filter by either ‘lowest to highest price’ or just by a low maximum price e.g., £ 2 for the UK.

This yields a lot of IDW single issue comics as well as novels, but it’s viable.

I’ve checked for Canada, Amazon Kindle .ca has the full US list plus a few more. David Mack’s excellent Kelvin Universe book ‘More Beautiful than Death’ is at $CDN 0.99, among others.

Enjoy!

Simon & Schuster had a larger than usual array of ebook deals for September 2023.

October 1st is the last day for this group, a new set (likely fewer books) will come on line Sunday the 2nd.

If you haven’t given Treklit a try, these ebook deals are a great low cost way to get into it.

In honour of Star Trek day, this month Simon & Schuster is offering 23 ebooks at discount prices.

Books from every era are represented. (A special shout out from me for the Diane Duane one.)

As usual, look for the discounts in the US, Canada and UK through the major ebook platforms.

Enjoy!

For those unfamiliar, every month Simon and Schuster offers an array of Trek ebooks at a promotional discount price.

In the US and Canada, they are $ 0.99, in the UK £ 0.99z, through the major ebook platforms. Not sure about other countries.

It’s a great way to dip into Treklit at an affordable price. Even better, the authors get their full residuals for each book. It’s a win-win for readers and writers.

This month’s offerings include a trilogy of Q-focused stories from Greg Cox as well as several TNG books from a diverse group of writers, including Diane Duane. There are also some TOS stories from Greg Cox and Lee Corey. This group will be available until September 3rd.

If you’re not familiar, every month the main publisher of Trek fiction, Simon & Schuster puts out an offering of more than a half dozen ebooks for $ 0.99 in Canada and the US and at a similar low price in some other countries.

This month is a bit of a blast back to the late Berman era with a collection of DS9 Dominion War books, a Voyager Seven of Nine story and a few others.

The standout of the month however is the Star Trek TNG - X-Men crossover ‘Planet X’.

While my preference is for physical books, Simon & Schuster’s ebook deals got me invested in the high quality Trek Relaunch continuity of Treklit as well as helped fill in my collection of out-of-print standalone classics.

Can highly recommend taking a risk on adding ebook specials at low cost to your ebook summer reading.

For those not already familiar, Simon & Schuster offers a monthly ebook promotion with an array of Treklit across shows and eras.

It’s a great way to dip your toe into the Litverse at modest cost.

Recommended price is $ 0.99 in the USA through the major ebook sellers, with similar pricing offers in Canada and some other countries.

This month’s selection includes the Destiny trilogy from the Relaunch novelverse. It’s David Mack’s excellent alpha to omega story of The Borg, featuring the Enterprise under Picard, the Titan under Riker, and the Aventine under newly promoted Captain Ezri Dax, with a Voyager cameo as well.

There’s also the Worlds of DS9 series, some favourites from the TOS and TNG eras from Greg Cox, Christopher L Bennett and Michael Jan Friedman as well as tie-in books to the new series.

This month’s offer is available until July 3rd
