A video on www.threads.net showing off the Cybertruck getting hauled out of a hill / incline by an F150 (or... at least the F150's wench). The Cybertruck is assisting, but its slipping / can't get traction even with all of the extra weight on the tow-line helping it out.

EDIT: https://www.instagram.com/p/C0uxBW5v_Bl/

Instagram seems to have an additional bit of footage, with Cybertruck slipping even nearly at the top of the hill (right next to the road), so the F150 has to pull it up even over that last hump.

I know offroading is heavily dependent on the tires, but... this isn't a good look for the Cybertruck.

Instagram from the owners of the F150:

No lockers due to software issues, not aired down, no pickup points, no recovery points!πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Hopefully this is a prototype Cybertruck or something, because that's pretty bad for a truck...

Arrr matey! I didnae know yon F150 had a wench of its own! Ye might think such a ship would have a winch instead. Arrrrr

Everything from Tesla is a prototype/beta.

Anyone who buys their stuff is literally paying to be a tester. And anyone who goes outside is also forced to be a tester with their life.

Not to make excuses for the Cybertruck, but a big part of driving in snow is experience. The way he's spinning his wheels shows ether his lack of experience driving on snow and ice, or the truck doesn't have a "low gear" for it. The first rule of driving in snow is don't do it if you don't have to.

The software issue is at least fixable but the rest is shit. Great example of an early adopter fee.

There are definitely recovery points on the front.

It may not be able to do truck stuff, but hey, at least it was expensive!

Monumental piece of shit.

Can't help but wonder if the kid in the field is the owner and needed an adult to retrieve his car, or if the owner of the Tesla was attracting a crowd looking for a good laugh.

No, the RC on the car is indicative of a prototype. It stands for Release Candidate. I live in the bay area and have seen a few of them.

So just an unbearably lame dad bringing attention to himself. Painful day for the kids. πŸ˜†

Shouldn't the wheels just not spin like this in an electric vehicle? I'm having trouble articulating why not, but doesn't an electric motor relieve the inertia and torque that causes regular cars to spin in mud? Instant control, torque curve is a straight line.

The traction control software (or maybe the feedback loop / sensors??) is clearly utter crap. This obviously shouldn't be happening.

Electric isn't "instant", but its a lot faster than ICE engines. They SHOULD get better traction control because of how much faster it is to control electricity than control engines/mechanical parts.

Is it me or are the wheels disproportionatly small?

I thought the whole point of driving a Tesla was "saving the planet"? If he'd have gone to Walmart for a fake tree he wouldn't have gotten stuck.

Elon has found that the right-wing is more than willing to give him a ton of money if Musk just tickles their ego a little bit. The new plan is hur-durrr right-wing stuff.

Unfortunately, Elon doesn't realize that blue-collar workers who actually use a truck need it to like, actually work as a truck. Elon can seemingly get all the blue-collar cosplayers with this crap, but no serious workman is going to use this sham of a truck.
